Who wins the marking contest between Naismith & Ryan?

I watched the VFL & Sam is in great form. He is a very strong man.

Cray gets a game if they're serious about selecting on form.

If it's just about development then sure play Samson & hope.

Can't help but feel Sam will get the call up tonight. Unlike Kosi, he's been in excellent form.
Nanksmith can rest forward & try & create an aerial contest for our smalls as required.
Bit of a risk given neither are specialist forwards & are a bit lumbering but at least we know they'll keep the Saints defenders honest.
That said they may pick both Sam & Kosi. I'm just worried about foot speed if we do that.

Sam was very good against Gawn in the preseason.
I understand the calls for Ryan but Gawn has owned Nank for a while.
Be interesting to see how they name the team..

It's a bit of a punt playing the two rucks but Gawn has given us enormous problems the past few years.
Main problem is though that we don't have the mids available to take advantage of this matchup.
I'm worried Petracca & Oliver are going to have an absolute picnic.
Anyways good luck to Sam, he's worked hard & deserves this opportunity on the big stage. Hope he plays well.

Save for injury I think thats the last we'll see of the big Crayfish. Trie hard but didn't really impact across any facet.

Well off it tonight the big fella.

Has an important job on the list as an emergency ruck but thats probably his spot now.

Naismith is a VFL player who was poor tonight
Hate to say it but Kosi with 4 goals in VFL today should replace him for game against the Frockers

Feel for him a bit. Asked to play key forward for a large part - which he is not.

Thought we'd have been better off with him being first ruck more against Gawn, instead of Nank getting his usual arse handed to him by Max.

Saying that, Big Sam didn't take the opportunities given.

Perfect opportunity tonight to play Ryan, share the ruck load with Nank and play forward. Naismith isn't the future, we need to find out if Ryan is. Poor selection.

I would have given him first go at Gawn. Instruction would be to bash and crash him. Instead Nank was dominated by Gawn again. It was frustrating watching him try and Gawn would just tap away BUT also was running away and presenting in fwd line. Nank could not keep up.

I guess we should try and see if Sampson will ever make the grade. Cray is a break glass in case of emergency type.

What got me tonight was how tentative he is trying to mark. He waits for the ball. The guy is tall, and huge. If he runs towards the ball and jumps there is no way the ball gets spoiled. But he doesn't do this.

I know he is trying but it doesn't seem to be working.

Exactly. He had front possie so many times but actually took a backward step and opponent pushed in front of him. Saw it 3 times. Simply is not a forward, has no sense of how to play the position.

Na. I'm one of Samson's biggest fans but I like that we're demanding he dominate the VFL first. (He's not, yet. But he's getting there.)
