I thought Marlion was enormous.
Really built as the game progressed, as he does.
Had some important moments, was tough and composed.

Defensively quite good but didn't get into the game alot. Has been in scintillating form though and has shown the confidence lately including last night, to take the game on.

That's why I like Marlion in the midfield, his ability to feign a handball and step out of traffic helps to get the ball out of midfield congestion.

with a kick in it and 20 seconds left,

he keeps doing pirouettes through traffic and goes inside.

has a 2 speed gear box; fast and faster.

he just plays footy so instinctively.

A real gift to us all.

and Gold Coast didnt take him because he didnt have a car license and thought he couldn't get to training, despite riding his pushy to south freo and not missing a session for a year.

*smile* me.

Thought he was great Saturday night.

With Baker and Graham and later on Aarts, they were crashing and bashing their guts out in the middle which allowed Dusty to go forward and do what Dusty does.

Yep. His best position for us in on a wing harassing and chasing and then also providing midfield rotation relief (not ruck relief!).

I still don't mind him rucking, he can lose the tap but still win the ground ball. He did that on Saturday night at least once.

I wonder why the coaches are so reluctant to play Marlion at centre bounces?

he attended 28% last Saturday night, down from 56% the week before, when Sheds and Shai were in the side.

Im not questioning it so much, cause we won and Bakes and RCD starred,

but I'd like to understand the rationale

I think he's also needed on the wing. Also we had Vlas coming into the midfield at times as well. I like Marls at the bounce, either as ruck or rover, but I guess it depends on the needs of the team at the time.

Like I said, it worked,

but seemed odd to send Vlastuin and Aarts in there and leave Marlion out.

I guess yeah, he plays his wing so well, they want him out there.

Reckon the coaches would have spewed seeing isaac smith kill us on the wings when reviewing the match and requested marlion spend more time there this week.

Centre clearances? As in I am not sure he is great in that area.

maybe? he seemed to show a fair bit of promise in that dept on debut from memory?

I reckon he must play the wing much better and with more discipline than anyone else except Kmac?

Congrats to Marly this week.
Goes past his age in games.
29 yrs
30th game.

I like him on the wing.
Also occasional centre bounce visits.
I reckon oppo looks behind when they know "The Inflictor of Pain" is in the vicinity.
