I will be standing when you make your long awaited 1st appearance of 2003.
But....
I will also be standing when Jason McCartney runs out onto that field tonight. Despite my feelings towards the Roos, I will applaud one mans exceptionally courage and determination.
We speak alot about heroes in footy and I sometimes feel we use that term too loosely. But when people say Jason McCartney is a HERO they are 100% correct because in risking his life to save others he did what real heroes do. He is up there with the people who fight bush fires and floods. Those unsung heroes we never seem to thank enough.
