Re: A positive - Vlastuin?

Agree.

Kid reminds me of Voss and it's not just the hair or build. Forgive the hyperbole but I seriously believe he & McBean alone could possibly make this one the great drafts by any (non-expansion) side club drafting began.

Maybe he meant McCrae?

This bloke. We started Dylan Grimes on Jack Darling, because of course. Darling was BOG at quarter time. We switched Floss onto him, good night nurse.

Good question. Flyin Ryan looked like a Malaysian Airlines plane today

he looked poised to demolishify us in the first quarter.

he looked like Travis Varcoe early prelim '18

and then he didnt.

someone did a job on him, and I suspect it wasn't Jayden Short.

I'm still spewin' about the free kick he got from the legitimate Caddy tackle.

Yep. Just another one to add to his growing list of gun efforts.
Mister Reliable. Set your watch by it.

And yet both papers gave Shannon Hurn votes ahead of him. I’ve got a hole in my head from scratching it too much.

I want to breed Vlas together with Grimes to create a super breed of human warriors.

Paid for in the back, was listed as such on the scoreboard. Only thing is, he wasn't pushed in the back.

DS

Caddy completed the tackle and Rioli hit the ground on his side then rolled to face down. Caddy went down onto Rioli on his side then momentum carried him over onto Rioli's back. So if the Ump did not see the initial fall to the ground - as the ball had gone after the tackle - and looked back it would seem like a fall into the back. And of course it is Richmond transgressing so it is a penalty

Not sure that's quite right. Grimes stood Darling at CBs all day. When Darling moved up the field Grimes stayed back and either Vlastuin or Broad went with him.
Darling had 4 disposals in the first. His goal from the square- against Grimes. His free from the throw in, against Soldo. A mark on the wing against Vlastuin, and a fourth i can't remember.
I think we stuck with our structure, but tightened up across the ground.

Yeah, probably right Brodders. I was a bit drunk last night.

Wow. Now that would be scary.
Imagine that combination as a blueprint for the ideal backman.
Mash Rance into the genetic mix and that warrior would be pretty much unbeatable.

Looked nothing like a push in the back and I've tried every angle possible. Surely another umpire could have over-ridden such an obvious blunder.

I watched this in the first quarter and it was very interesting. I saw no less than 5 players marking him at various times. Early it was Short and Ryan carved him up a bit. But then I saw predominantly Short, Baker and Houli on him but also saw Broad and Vlastuin mark him. It looked a lot like players were taking responsibility for areas of the ground rather than hard checking on a player. This is what makes our back line so potent. They work as a team, that's why any review of performance should take it in as a whole, not concentrate all the time on individual players. Footy is really about the dynamics which is why it is often hard for a new player to just slot in. You really need to understand your role within the group.

Definitely, ClawHeart. I also think the stranglehold keeping the ball in the Tiges forward 50 had a bit to do with it as well.
