Welcome to the Tigers Marlion Pickett!

Should come in from Shai. Will be hot in Brissy and we need match harden players to play.

That's the problem though. Marlon is not match hardened for AFL level. That's why he's been so hot and cold. Needs a pre season to get the level of fitness required for AFL level up. I suspect MC knew that which is why he didn't get a home and away game at AFL level.

Probably doesn't know our defensive structures well enough, would make a very dangerous forward who could pinch hit in the midfield.

Going by Dimmas presser you know he is excited with this guy.

I think the MC & Damien are torn whether they bring him in a final or hold him back till next year.

His second half on Saturday was very good to bloody exciting. Still my concern would be the step up to not just home & away game, or a VFL finals game but the step up even more to a AFL finals like intensity.

You would be tossing & turning as I have in my sleep since Saturday thinking about this same thing which I’m sure Dimma & Co are tossing in up & discussing in their team meetings.

You could probably see MaCrae pumping up his two men in Nankervis & Pickett! Nankervis will play but Pickett?

But who would you drop?

If we had an obvious hole in our squad that Merlion could fill, then bring him in. But we're in pretty good shape across the all positions so there's no need to rush him in.

Correct
He'd be a handy inclusion ...... if something happened

Id drop Shorty for Marlion
Marlion has a lot more to offer than a loose small defender than is only in the side for his kicking

Huge talk he may debut going around....

That would be huge. Massive call. Short couldn’t have played worse Rd 23. He was terrible. Was Not the time to put in an effort like that. I would be shocked if they selected Pickett in saying that - I wouldn’t put it beyond this coaching group.

The only player who would be a like for like would be Bolton.
Yes that's right, and how others are seeing it.

It's a hard one, obviously. If they dropped Bolton for Pickett, at this point of an important final, you'd have to think there'd be a real risk it might result in Bolton leaving. So I mean, there's THAT in the mix maybe, as well. Maybe.

From what we've seen, Pickett could be real value in this so important game this week, but only the MC is REALLY in a position to judge this. If we win, we look pretty damn good for the big one. But if it means dropping Bolton, I think the odds are it won't happen.

On other hand, if for example they dropped Short for Pickett instead, that then means some restructuring required, I'd think. I think the odds are against that also.

All up, It just comes out as...'against type' at this point - meaning not generally in the MC"s nature. All up, if Pickett comes in, it would be a surprise. The talk sure, that was going to happen, and it can be used to mindgame the Lions a bit, maybe.

Who knows.

Reckon it would be a big mistake to play him.
Don’t often disagree with your posts but I think he just might be worth the risk. But play him forward and have Ellis and shank play the short role

He was a HB/ mid in the WAFL and has been playing HB and a bit in the midfield in the VFL. I think it Would be even more of a risk to play him forward.
