FYI 2019 Grand Final - RFC Priority Groups/AFL Grand Final Ticketing

I just picked up 2x concession that I want to upgrade just now and that’s exactly what i was told - can upgrade at Gate 3 on game day.
Who told you that BT? I've been looking for that info everywhere - thought it would be a fairly commonly asked question that Ticketek could just have put the answer on its FAQ page.

2nd on sale event for grand final tickets has now closed (no longer able to buy tickets to GF on ticketek site even with qualifying barcode). I checked at 12:58pm and tickets for Cat 1, 2, 3 are all gone. Cat4 and Cat5 have limited availability (although I was still able to get 2 tickets next to each other) and Cat6, Cat7, Restricted view and Standing Room all remained and selectable options.

Question is - what happens now. Let's guess:
1. AFL directs ticketek to create yet another window for GWS and RFC registered barcodes - this is unlikely, as I don't think it will result in selling out the GF.
2. AFL directs ticketek to all game day access completing club members (so anyone wit barcode) to jump on and buy tickets - possibly this
3. AFL directs ticketek at the request of RFC to open up tickets to silver members as well as Priority 1,2,3 people for a period of time - this is the fairest way to do it, but ticketek may push back saying they are getting sick of running ticketing events for the GF (as stupid as that felt to write, I wouldn't put it past ticketek to have a whinge about how much extra work they are having to do to sell tickets to the GF.
4. Tickets made available to the public - grossly unfair, but incredibly possible as it doesn't require RFC to provide additional barcode info and ticketek to upload it to their system.

Ultimately, option 3 is the best for our members and hopefully it's not a hard thing for RFC to just provide a CSV file with all silver member barcodes and then for ticketek to put them into their system.

Then just announce that there is another window for RFC members tomorrow.

Surprised that we didn't sell out GWS unused allocation though.

I wonder what the split is between our member groups. There must be a lot of silver members that make up our 100k membership.

Just got an email saying all 7,8, and 9 year consecutive members can access tickets if available at 2pm today

There'd be heaps below Gold considering in 2010 ( 10 year membership ago) our membership was around 30K. So at least 70K are below gold membership plus whatever number of that 30K hadn't continued with consecutive memberships since then.

Very confused here. Cat 1 member who didn't register due to my other kids being gold & silver ,. Now they have had all these new chances , just received an e mail saying my 2 youngest silver members could try & get a ticket. But the way i read it is i couldn't try for mine , my eldest daughters (gold) & 2 youngest (silver) all at the same time so you could sit together if available ?

fair call mate. you deserve your ticket no doubt and I hope you get it. but i would be derelict in my duty as a mate if i didn't try (not that i expect to be successful).

All good Ian - got my ticket this morning thanks to “no member GWS” - cat 5 ticket so in the clouds but who cares.

I rang the club this morning to see how many tickets were available and a membership lady estimated that GWS had handed the club around 10,000 tickets.

Given I think around 3700 rfc members were unsuccessful in the ballot so she was saying if I logged on around 11 am I should easily get a ticket which is true.

I suspect there are still some tickets available as not all gold members would have taken the remainder.

Got a Cat 7 ticket - Not sure if it is standing or not
Has Q4-2 Row V with a seat number. Anyone make sense of that? Do the standing tickets have seat or row numbers on them or just a section?
Yes, there are Cat 7 seats - my mother in law got one. Standing tickets (which I got) just have a section.

The ticketek officer person who issued the tickets. I asked her if I can upgrade to full adult when I collected them and she said I can do that on gameday, gate 3

So it’s going to be close to but not quite the 2017 prelim final.
I heard a rumour that some Richmond people were buying GWs memberships to get a GF ticket.

So assuming 20K tickets offered to each club, take away 10K from GWS and add 10K to Tigers we're looking from team allocations alone at least 30K Tiger supporters and 10K GWS (of which 3/4s are probably non followers who just accepted the invite). Add VFL members etc, it's going to be a huge one-sided crowd.

got another standing room …. must be close to sold out as I had to keep persisting even though it was saying allocation exhausted.
