I find it entertaining. Essendon, despite having 3 months warning, are shocked that Daniher wants to be traded to the Swans. Listening to them posture and threaten to keep him at all costs just reminds me how far back that club is in terms of creating an environment that players want to be part of.

Richmond would take a completely different approach I imagine.

A contented drug free and relaxed premiership approach perhaps?

An extra pick inside this year’s top 20 would definitely be handy as there’s quite a lot of highly rated tall defenders around this year - could be as many as six KPPs in the first round. I would certainly be happy to grab a couple of them and then shift any other picks into next year (compulsory 3rd pick would be a rookie upgrade).
If you consider a KPP as 195+ then there is a very limited number of talented defensive talls in this draft. Aside from Mcasey, Worrell and DeKoning there is nothing else you would consider in the top 50 picks. Who else were you considering that are 195+?

Beyond the three you mention there are three others that, though they don’t exactly match the criteria you mention I thought might have potential:
Will Gould is only 191, but I was thinking he would only need to grow a couple of cm to be Grimes size (and would probably be playing his kind of role). Harrison Jones is 194 and has mainly played as a forward, but at that age you never know (most thought Darcy Moore would also be a forward). Luke Jackson is currently a ruck but at 197cm might be a bit under-sized for that and being relatively new to football I was thinking he also might transition into a new position.

Dave Astbury was recruited as a forward, so can be done.

So Carlton has now feigned interest in two fine Richmond Men before shunning them late in the piece.

Ellis's manager Marty Pask has apparently said he would be wary of ever dealing with Carlton again, such was their lack of professionalism. Said they led Brandy down the garden path. Now they have told Butler they've had a change of heart and won't be pursuing him.

Who do these peanuts suddenly think they are?

Won a few games at the end of the year when everyone else had lost interest, did you?

Had a dime-a-dozen, workmanlike midfielder win the rising star, hey?

And now suddenly think you're some kind of "destination club", do you?

Spare me.

If any club needs an injection of the winning mentality, it's your pathetic dung heap, you second-rate, irrelevant posers.

Now bugger off and don't darken our door again until you resemble something north of mediocre.

Tomlinson to the Dees.
Haven't quite forgiven the #### for shoving Rioli into Cameron earlier in the year.
Total flog act that one.

Franks the bellis compo a bit too.

Same age/draft range/games played/contract/inconsistency.

Only diff is brando played 2 premierships.

A lot of their supporters seem to regard this year as successful. They won a few more games and jumped a few rungs on the ladder, but they sacked their coach and still wound up closer to the bottom than the top. Recent actions would say that the Penny hasn’t dropped there yet and they’re going nowhere fast.

Cats just do not want Ned Kelly to go to WC as they see that is strenghtening WC who are already a power unit. If Dockers can trade Brad Hill for Saints 6th draft pick Dockers will have picks 6 & 7 so they are in the hunt for Ned big time.
