Trade Thread

I reckon the Cats have been shafted. Surely they wanted a top ten pick. Unless they're going full rebuild. Maybe they are.

4 hot picks for a bloke who plays 2nd fiddle to Danger, on a soccer pitch?

Kelly is a good player. Not M.Pickett good, but good.

But no way would I sell out of TWO drafts for him.

to be fair, they already have a pretty solid squad. so whether you think they paid overs or not, it keeps them well and truly in the window.
You never compromise your future for 1 player. Especially a dime a dozen player like Kelly at the age of 28.
Those type of trades are reserved for super stars of the game.

West Coast:

In: Kelly

Out: Farm
It’s an indictment on their recruiters. Could’ve had him 24 months ago for pick 21, could’ve had him 36 months ago for next to nothing in a psd/rookie draft!

It does put the Tom Lynch freebie into perspective. Free agency is an anomaly.

No way Kelly has the same impact at the Eagles (however handy), yet they have traded the farm for him.

He never really fitted into the Geelong culture.
Don't think he ever played for free kicks

Bloody quality player is Kelly, but Wet Coke have given up plenty to get him. Without wanting to be rude or put the mozz on anyone, you'd be praying daily that he never pops an injury something.
Just wonder what the hell is going on in the recruiting depts at Wet Coke n the Frockers. Kelly, Pickett, Stack n not a peep from the recruiters at any stage of the various drafts. Surely someone there could have risked a loose change pick on one of them.

I see this trade as a win for us. Geelong will be significantly weaker in the midfield from here on and WCE have compromised their drafting future for the next 2 national drafts. Keep it going I say.

West Coast is in the window and you would trade away the farm every day of the week if it gets you another premiership.

But i agree Geelong's window has all but closed :D

has this approach ever worked ?

The Carlton / Judd example should have warned all clubs off

Media circle jerk happening over Kelly to West Coast. David King absolutely pulling himself. Has basically declared them premiers next year. Can not hide his delight that there is someone, in his opinion, that can knock of Richmond.

Bring it bitches!!
