Jacob Townsend

Call me old-school, but I wouldn't mind seeing him start the GF in the middle with instructions to crush anyone not in a Tiger's outfit into the ground.

Gotta put on some hurt and get the oppo looking over their shoulders as much as possible.

I reckon Neil Balme could be a very useful source of advice here. He played in the days when it was far rougher than now and if this turns into a brutal encounter he should know how the players should react. Will be invaluable in the coach's box.

Let them go the thug, knuckle whatever.
Play the ball and hopefully the umpires will pay the frees our way.

BUT we cant allow them to intimidate us.

I’m not scared.
But I’ve got a gut feeling if things are not going the way of the Giants. Mumford will go the biff.
Townsend as a emergency wouldn’t surprise me.
I would drop Short and play Townsend.
GWS aren’t fast.

It would be great to have towners bone crushing tackles on the G this Saturday.

ANd his goalkicking is elite.

Still find it hard to get him in the 22

Glad the AFL got rid of the substitute, having said that, Towner would've been the perfect sub in the GF.

I have no doubt GWS are going to throw the kitchen sink at the Tigers. Why wouldn't they. Got nothing to lose in some respects.
That said, the Tigers will no doubt be prepared for a full on assault and won't be deterred by any argy bargy. They will be focused on hurting GWS by winning the contested ball and making them pay that way.
I also believe the Tiges have nothing to lose. They will give it their all & believe in their systems to win

Media keep trumpeting about GWS not having nothing to lose like willing them on with massive support. Why because they maybe know the Tiges will win and cant stomach it these biased aholes

AFL sponsored Frankstein love child, in GWS. Stuff 'em. They were built for success after the AFL stuffed up on the GC model setup
Hope the Tiges smash em & by heaps.

Thank goodness for the RFC media team, at least there I can read or watch some videos on a positive nature for our club.
Go Tiges.

Apologies I will put the Townsend story I heard on the rumour board.

I got sucked in believing it without checking it first.

Not like me.
I can’t find anything to confirm or call bullkaka.

but there some interest in him (further north) and so there should be
he is a great player, club first, life member, plays to his strengths week in, week out and is a premiership player too. Not many of these types of players around .............

If we keep him it will probably be as a VFL player only.

That’s the reality. My memory of Towner will always be that cameo of appearances late 2017 but the facts are that before that he was basically gone and since then he hasn’t shown enough to be an AFL player. He is now behind a long list to get a game at our club and I suspect his afl career may be over

Our version of Shane Ellen

Yep, JT was good value for that period in late 2017 but the bottom line is he’s played 48 AFL games in 8 seasons with us and GWS. I really hope he gets a chance with a third club.
