Victoria v All Stars

I recon cotch was BOG. When he was off in the third the all stars killed it. He came back on with that same old tackling intent and good work ethic and the vics really lifted

Possibly. Close call but Dusty setup so many goals it was ridiculous. And how many times was he on his own forward and players wouldn't kick to him. Absolute superstar.

I really enjoyed watching it last night.
Not sure Dusty was BOG but we will take it.
Hodgy and his non stop commentary on cotchin was great to hear.
Haynes is a unbelievable footballer.
He should be on our shopping list.
Penderbury class footballer, kelly Congiloi and Greene all very good.
Papply and Saad surprise packets.
My votes.
5. Kelly
4.Pemderbury
3.Papply
2.Cotchin
1. Saad

One thing I got out of last night.
Dusty on another level than the rest with his kicking ability. Kicks 55m off one step.
Separates him from the rest.

*small confession. Had to have a shower last night after finding myself admiring Toby Greene

The Standout last night, our boys at any opportunity would lay off the ball at all times.
Jack Edwards and Martin would've kicked 10 between them but they kept on bringing other players intp the game.
Dusty had 12 score involvements, i reckon in 8 of them he could've scored himself. Ala Dangerfield "Mr its all about me" he knows he isn't the best player in the comp now

**** Hawkins is crap.

Was Durrwayne watching?
He is the one who was meant to make a difference in last year's preliminary.
Maybe if he did play we would've been up by 21 at half time.

Yep Dusty gave off, others didn't, especially young Gresham, where's the respect :)

Kelly had the ball near right hand side boundary just inside the 50. Dusty was streaming toward goal inside him unchecked. A Richmond player would have handballed to Dusty as the player in the better position. Kelly only had eyes for the goal and duely banana kicked it through for 6 points.

Meh. Watched it last night, bit of a hit n giggle fund raiser for a very good cause. Happy for all concerned that there were no apparent injuries. Probably hardly even any bruises it was that open.
Reckon Jonny Ralph's article in the Hun was spot on this morn, if anyone's thinking of bringing back State of Origin footy it's gotta actually have some meaning.

Went last night. ... had a Geelong fan in my ear bagging every Richmond player who went near the ball:rolleyes:

Decided to listen to the ABC commentary. ..... Be interested to know if anyone else heard Mick Malthouse and his assessment of Fyfe as a footballer?

Called him a very good player. Certainly not elite. Said his kicking is disgraceful. All the elite are fantastic kicks and asked would you want Fyfe kicking from 40 out to win you a game!

Made the point a number of times that the best players to have ever played never won a Brownlow, Matthews Carey, Bartlett (should have said Royce too!)

Said he didn’t want to denigrate the award as blokes like Skilton who was a champion won 3. Got the impression he doesn't rate how it's voted on.

Also said the big blokes usually take longer to get their touch back early in the season when talking about Lynch.
As for Hawkins, reckons he didn't play well after round 15 and will be interested to see how he's going after round 6. Can't bend over and said he wonders if time is catching up to him! Doesn't know why they recruited Jenkins!

As for the game itself...... hmmm, It made me realise how emotionally invested I am in my own club!

Our blokes... Cotch and Dusty were great. I was on level 3, in front, smack bang looking down the middle of the ground and the amount of times Dusty was free and calling for it was ridiculous.
Apparently gave Bont the bird at one point when he wouldn't rotate... (so they said on the radio)
Thought Shane was ok early. Jack was in entertainment mode and completely unselfish. Bachar solid... kept mixing him and Saad up. Tom, extremely rusty! Let's hope he’s better for the run!

He forgot to mention Fyfe has more lives then a cat when it came to being suspend for dirty acts on the ground.
Fyfe was one my favs not long ago but in the last couple of years ive seen him go the elbow on opposition players and the one that totally turned me off him was that 'straight studs' into Ross's ankle last year.
Can't believe the AFL didn't look at it espically after they changed a rule because Garry Rohan got a broken ankle from a sliding action.
In football (soccer ) fyfe would've missed 5-6 weeks, straight red card.

Lynch did look rusty. However I think it was partly the difference between how the ball was being delivered to him versus how Richmond kick it to him. At his best when the ball is kicked in front of him to lead to. His kicking was way off.

At least he presented and was in the play a fair bit. Hardly noticed Hawkins.
