Global Warming

CCers: humans cause climate change.

TM and HR: no you are wrong, it's the humans who are the problem

The overpopulation thing is the conservative's last bastion they're using to hide from the overwhelming evidence showing that they've been wrong for years.

Whenever they're asked what they actually want to do about it, they flounder around and mutter something vaguely incoherent about immigration.

It's simply a way of agreeing that humans are affecting the world's climate and resources, but also somehow ignoring the solutions they don't like.

yeah that would be nice but unfortunately human beings have raised atmospheric CO2 from 285ppm to over 400ppm in the last 200 years or so. Non-anthropogenic climate change takes much, much longer - excluding events like huge asteroid strikes. The "climate has always changed" denialists never look at the pace of change we humans have induced in a tiny period of time. So the last time CO2 levels were this high was probably in the Pliocene Era - about 2.5 million years ago. Yep - we went from a stable CO2 climate back to a CO2 level from 2.5 million years IN 200 years of industrial civilisation. Oh yeah, sea levels were about 6 metres higher back then so enjoy your beachside shack while you can dudes.

Damage has already been done and we probably can't reverse it on a human timescale, so we need to adapt. But we also need to minimise damage if we can. Things are going to get worse but we might be able to stop them getting really really terrible. Maybe.
Population back 200 years ago was probably lucky to be half a billion people, it's exploded by *smile* loads to nearly 8 billion since then n all those people want a house to live in, basic amenities like running water, gas, electricity, clothes to wear, some reasonably healthy food to munch on, education, health care, employment, yada yada yada.
Putting *smile* back the way it was 200 years ago isn't going to happen, nor is pretending to stop " humanities " super accelerated global warming. Humans aren't going to stop doing what they are doing because more than half of us simply don't even have the basics of a modern world yet so they're gunna keep pushing *smile* up. Yep. find a better way to get *smile* done, but more importantly find better ways to live with the mess because there ain't no way to clean it up.

Maybe we should build some more Desal plants n use the water to irrigate a few dried out paddocks n grow food, that'll keep the rising sea levels down to manageable. Or maybe we should just let the hot dry planet shrink the seas coz there's no rain anymore to refill the oceans with.

Damage has been done, by humans.

First step is to stop doing the damage. We have to take responsibility for our actions.

DS
Easy, we should all go back to walking around in our bare arses, chasing our lunch with a pointy stick n living till we are about thirty - if we are lucky. That'll fix the problem in no time.

Including deaths the world population has grown by 41,000 + Today.
Including deaths the world population has grown by 16 million + people This Year.
China's population has grown by approximately 150 million people in the last 20 years
India's population has grown by approximately 330 million people in the 20 years.
The worlds population has grown by 1 billion 650 million people in the last 20 years

Those people require a lot of food, water, fuel and paper(trees) etc

Said it before, we are breeding ourselves into extinction.

Yep.
Maybe we should get angry again n nuke a few billion into extinction, that'd slow the population growth down for a few years n none of the leftovers would have the spare time or energy for mass hysteria every time someone farted.

It might be what will be required for countries to be able to feed and water themselves.

i hope they dont nuke us. We just started a dynasty, with Stack and his mates we could have the greatest team ever.
Plus we've won the Ashes and the ladies tippity20.
Just our luck when our lives are looking good they nuke our country as part of TMs solution

There are definately solutions, you and your cohort are the only one floundering and muttering about immigration. Oh and also on Australia carrying the can regarding climate change.

One would have to just exit earth to contribute to their full ability, the rest is just lip service.

Human population is the cause and you already agree to this, so not sure that shifting a person from one country to another really supports your most devine theory on saving the planet.

Now before you rabbit on about right wing propaganda and how the left will save the planet, i will say again that i support renewables and the development of new energy but none of this should be done thinking it will save the planet.

It is a far simpler problem than the left would have any fool believe.

Never denied it AM, more put off by CCers hysteria and negative attitude towards Australia whilst countries just go about shagging themselves into the record books.

Sure but none of this long rant about something disproves climate change.

Yeah, it's a global problem. Has anyone ever said differently?

Supply and demand.

Again, you are yet to provide any solution or even say what action you want on the matter.

Or are you applauding the coronavirus for solving your problem?

Population is not the problem, people are.

There are more than enough resources for even more people, it's just some hoard them and some waste them and some don't get access to them at all. Because free markets are the best and most efficient means of distributing resources. *Citation needed.

With the housing density of New York City, you could fit every person in the world into New South Wales.

At any rate, the world's population is set to decline in the second half of the century.

You are talking renewables? As we are running out of coal, oil, natural gas etc.

Easy way to fix that. Get a flat earther appointed as president of the US of A. They don't believe Australia exists so we can just live here in our non existence, nuke free :D

I'm talking everything. Food, water, energy. There is more than enough.
Fresh water?

Not according to many reports, It will become more and more scarce. Unless you mean there is enough fresh water if we change where we live, how we live, diet etc etc

We don't have to change where we live, but yes, how we live, how we manage resources, what we allow our water to be used for.

Just nuke everything, cockaroaches n rodents won't much care n the good thing is that we'll remain reigning premiers for forever, n the tippity 20 champs. Just think, we'll also already have a fancy urn to keep all the ashes in as well.
