Surprised the London stabbings haven't been raised. Best thing was they didn't muck around and shot the guy. Amazing bravery from civilians to challenge the guy.

You get tired of being labelled after awhile. A local terrorist (brother of the Bourke St stabber) only this week renounced ISIS in order to reduce his punishment, but lying in such circumstances is excused in Islam by the custom of Taqiyyah. Not sure there is any such thing as a reformed terrorist.

Civilians who stopped him will probably get charged with hate crimes and vilification and assault.

It is modern day England after all.

yEp & the prick was released from gaol 9 years yes 9 years early

Execution is the only way to deal with these shitbags.

If a relative of mine was to lose their life in these circumstances id sue the living F$#$^# outta every bastard, do gooder, parasite defence lawyer and beaureaucrat that had him released.

They should be held accountable for this.

Not quite true. He was sentenced to an indeterminate 16 years, which meant it was up to the parole board to set his release date. This was changed on appeal to a determinate 16 years, which meant he was eligible for parole after 7/8 years, as long as he met the criteria. Unfortunately this meant he didn't even face the parole board before being released. So he wasn't really released early, but served what he was sentenced to.

The sentence (and the judicial system) are the issues.

You've got it all wrong, Tim. Just a typical, decent, hard-working immigrant family which just happened to have (at least) two black sheep.

The Age even reported the Chinese shopping raids on country towns as "City Dwellers" and get this, showed a picture of caucasian shoppers at the check out to accompany the story.

Talking to one of my employees in Yarrawonga, the police literally had to stop locals from tourching the bus. It got pretty serious there.

It amazes me how far news agencies will go to 'not report' the reality of news stories if it doesn't fit thier own biast narative.

It things aren't called out for what they are, then they will never be fixed. If China isn't for example forced to take responsibility for what we are all going through now, then what pressure is ther for them to conform, before they set some other pestilence upon us? I can't believe how soft we are as a people in regard to offending. Getting offended doesn't make you die - unlike certain other things floating around out there!

There will be some positives to come out of coronavirus. I'm hoping that the death, or at least a severe watering down, of political correctness is one of them.

You must be really annoyed that the reported Footscray logistics company wasn't being used to hoard stuff bought in our Supermarkets and planning to ship container loads to China. That or you can spin a story on how the police who investigated the reports are in on it too and didn't want the news to come out.

There's a lot of talk about these Chinese raiding parties. Haven't seen a single shred of evidence. Not even a Twitter post with a photo. In today's social media world you don't need to rely on mass media to get news out, Social Media does it a lot faster. Or maybe China owns Twitter now.

Is this a first hand account Frickers? You know how the others will portray these goings on, if its not on twitter or the book its not real.
Or is it that yarrawongans are not much for the twitter or the book Or taking photos during disputes.
"City folk" would be cameras first, share with the world second?

This China blaming game is nonsense. So yes, wet markets and all that - not good. It happens elsewhere too, and it should be stopped. It's another shitty thing that humans do to animals and the planet.

China government response. Yes, at first the local authorities covered up. and then the national government covered up. Watch the miniseries Chernobyl, it's exactly about this. Lies that we tell about a disaster/problem are a debt that must be paid in the future.

Then we saw a real response and much more openness. Did we see everything? Probably not. It is China. Through pretty draconian lockdowns and social control they stopped it, at least to date.

But then we saw other governments around the world do much the same. Minimise the threat, worry more about the economy and "panic" and "fear". Its a pattern that we've seen time and time again. It's now March and we had two months to really prepare, we did not very much.

As for the Chinese buying out stuff in country towns, I'll believe it when someone here has firsthand accounts. I doubt its systemic and would be quickly stopped if it was.
