I'm one of those people, but dont feel sorry for me, I have many other interests. Disagree about legit premiers, this years winner will have a massive * next to their name. Port, Adelaide, WC and Freo living and playing in Queensland? Give me a spell.
One thing I will say though, perfect oportunity to give some kids a chance. Id be playing Naish every game.

One thing is for sure, no one will ever forget who wins it this year, whether they think it's legit or not.

The only sooky coaches to win a flag in the last 25 years are Brad Scott (the flag fell in his lap), and Adam Simpson,
so I suppose he could pull it off.
But Im ruling a line through them.
I think GWS will cope well, and Pies and Tigers.
I won't be counting it. Season is far too compromised. In these unprecedented circumstances best team often doesn't win it anyway.

The asterisk on the premiership discussion is interesting. The AFL are working very had to set the narrative that this years winner is, if anything, more worthy due to the upheaval everyone has gone through. It's definitely a valid Premiership. I reckon a lot of the media will tow that line just to ensure they don't lose their access.
Amongst the general public, now doubt the supporters of the Premiership team will see it as a real Premiership. Also no doubt the rest of the supporters will talk it down, even if it's just to wind up the winners a bit.
If we win. Brilliant. 3 in 4 years. We're living a dynasty. We're witnessing one of the great Richmond eras.
If we don't, no big deal, it's not a real Premiership after all, it's like winning the AFLX premiership. Watch us in 2021 when the real AFL season starts again and we pick up where we left off in 2019.

2021 might be a bit different player wise.
We have Jack R, Houli Dooley, Martin, Astbury, Grimes and Edwards starting to get to the end of their careers.
And no Rance of course.
Hope we have the players coming through to replace any of them that decide to retire or be de-listed.

Correct. There are heaps of fans still saying how the AFL have gifted us premierships. Sod it, let them gift us another one please in 2020 and I'll be stoked, 3 in 4 years, dynasty era.
With AFL clubs having to abide by a 40 page dossier on Covid protocols to play and each club has to give a DAILY report
to the AFL that they have abided by it there should be no way community team sport should get the green light any time soon IMO.

Part of that is good governance on the AFL's part - they would be trying to ensure that clubs follow protocols and are introducing documentation to ensure that, because it's literally millions of dollars at stake - if they go ahead and have to cancel after two games then they will be deep, deep in the red (and the poop).
Local sport won't have or need the same level of reporting requirement.
Local teams won't be getting tested twice a week and won't abide by no visitors to their household so I can't see how they let them start.

What compromised seasons are you using as evidence that the best team doesn't OFTEN win?
I thought the consensus is if not the fact is that every season is compromised...only 5 repeats out of 17 with those far from random, perpetual question of home finals let alone GF.
