Caddy on a wing is done. Opposition know to put someone on him with endurance and use them on the way out of defence. Caddy is too slow and lazy to keep up and the outnumber is created the whole way down the ground
Agree that he is not fast and is better as a forward. Never seen him as lazy though.

Experience is over.

Sides are exploiting our wingers.

Caddy forward or out.....
Yep. And we have lost so much two way running with Brando's departure. So many were confident he could be replaced, but elite gut runners are worth their weight in gold in Richmond's style of play.

Must be moved forward and into the middle at times to bash and crash. Caddy needs to be able to use his size and strength and we are not allowing him to do it.

Agree

With the shorter quarters there's more speed across the whole ground. He's not suited by that and is struggling with, it's too easy for quicker opponents to run off him.

Caddy is a dilemma.
In 2018 he was almost AA Up forward pre Lynch. Does he go forward again at the the expense of a struggling Riewoldt? Or is there no place for him in the side given he’s already been reinvented a couple of times before?
Doesn’t look right with that calf. I’d probably leave him out & pick younger legs on the wing in his place.

Caddy has been in this position before and he found a way through it - he is a big game / finals type of players that copes when young smaller bodied players tend to struggl.

Our challenge is to get enough game time into him so if we are there at the pointy end of the season, he is fit and available to be selected if form warrants.

cant see him playing this week though

On the forward line. He blocks for Jack and uses his body to break packs. Nice aggro too. Valuable finals player. (Not a winger)

If a coach cant find a place find a player as good as Caddy, then he's no good at coaching.

i reckon people are writing off a premiership wingman a little too quickly.
maybe he has lost a little pace over the summer, but i reckon he will struggle while the rest of the team is playing rubbish, and will probably again prove to be valuable when we can start winning the ball again, and pressuring the opposition when they have it to cause loose kicks that he can mop up.
of course if we continue to play the way we have been then he may not get the chance to show his value.

Coaches shouldev known that it wouldnt work but they obviously backed the system to contain him.

But as is nigh on always the case with Sidebottom we ignored the most dangerous runner and link up player and he burns us.
but yet we are 4 wins 2 losses with a draw against the pies since 2017.

Those that think Caddy is a spent force should think again. He is very important to the side and will perform in those games that count.Underrated pack mark by a mile IMO

Absolutely.

Very strong overhead, pretty good kick for goal (most of the time), very smart footballer and has a good dose of mongrel about him.

He's never been quick, and I'm not convinced he's the answer on the wing, but he's a good footballer fwd/mid.

I had him down to be dropped but if he's not injured put him in the forward 50 and a few stints in the Mid. We are better with him in the team. He is mouthy and can mark.

Was bloody good today...best game for a while. If watching the replay have a look how many times he saves us late in the game when Melbourne were starting to get on a roll.
