Peep Show was great.

I loved the Mighty Boosh but tried to watch it again recently, incredibly dated and basically unwatchable. No offence Caspar

Two decent Brit shows you might like, Giri Haji Japanese/English yakuza crossover with Will Sharpe and Flowers about a family with a depressed dad (Julian Barrett of Boosh fame), Olivia Coleman (Peep Show) and Will Sharpe again as the Japanese intern/exchange student. Kind of funny yet melancholy/depressing in that English way.

Will Sharpe is basically a genius IMO
Cool. Thanks Antman!

Yes. The Boosh has lost a little lustre. I can see your point there.

I'll check the ones you said out.

Stick with it Tim. Worth it - series 2 probably better than series 1

Agree with that. 2 is better, but 1 is also good! I watched this series again about two months ago and perhaps because of COVID 19 lockdown depression I had a negative reaction, "these people are so horrible I just can't watch them any more". But it is damn funny.

Been bingeing Veep. Went from good show to ridiculous, stupid garbage by the end. Why do American sitcom characters always default to either idiot, *smile*, or idiotic *smile*?

Harsh. Loved it to the end though the original show runner left after series 4 (I think). Thought the finale was pretty good as far as finales for.

Watched Dirty John: Betty Broderick. Was ok, felt like an 8 hr made for tv midday movie.

That sounds awful.
Yeah, wasn’t awful (pretty bland) but all these mini series now feel they have to be 6, 8 or even 10 episodes when it’s just not necessary. They pad them out to fill said scheduled number of episodes.

Agree, watch the first episode of Dirty Betty and it felt like the same scene over and over for a good 20 mins.
exactly, I actually started watching 5 or 10 minutes then fast forwarding 5 or 10 minutes. I don’t feel like I missed a thing.

Just finished season 3 of Line of Duty. Wow! What a great finale to a season. Fantastic show and highly recommended. One of the rare shows where each season (so far) is better than the preceding one and they’ve all been great.

Looking forward to season 4.

That’s subjective opinion for you hey? I’ve tried the American version but can’t recall laughing once. But I don’t find Steve Carell that funny. He’s had his moments but IMHO he’s not fit to carry Ricky’s duffel bag.
Can't watch Carell doing comedy, haven't watched the American version, but love the original. Straight roles on the other hand, I think he's great ie. in The Big Short and Foxcatcher

Found a little unknown gem on Foxtel called Hello Ladies with Stephen Merchant from the UK version of The Office. He’s a single guy in LA and he’s very much like David Brent ie very awkward and clingy and always saying the wrong and inappropriate thing.
Only lasted one season (8 episodes) and a telemovie.
