Welcome to the Tigers Oleg Markov

Can't believe he leaves for less then 400k and only on 2 yrs.
While that Adelaide dud Atkins gets 4yrs at 400k.
Our players don't have value in the open market.
Lets see what Higgins gets us, pick78?
We fked up badd picking him up in 2017 considering the players that were still available.
Not happy Zip

I agree

Players like Higgins should not be able to dictate where they go whilst still contracted.
We have invested a 1st rounder and 3 years of development into them and should get fair compensation as a return.

Sydney played it well with Papley and we should do the same, Higgins has player 43 out of a possible 61 home away games and should be grateful

Has to be a two-way street then. Seems to be a few clubs putting up contracted players for trade.

Don't think it's the end of the world Markov leaving. We have some good younger talent coming through who likely will be better players anyway. Can't keep all your fringe players, have to make way for new.

Good luck to the kid, it’s a great move for him. No sweat for us. Half back flankers are a dime a dozen. The mind boggles that Carlton pay $900,000 for theres.
They are planning to put him in the middle I believe, and using Saad to replace Simmo.

What after one good game in the centre he becomes a 800k player now??
Ridiculous.
I still reckon Wilson is a better footballer and freo only got him for 600k

The biggest knock on Oleg for mine was he didnt win enough of the footy.

His stats were identical to Broads who pretty much plays as a shutdown player and often minds KPF's or simply runs to take space as opposed to an offensive running HBF.

If he can boost his touches by at lest 2 a quarter then he will start to impact more, needs to be getting 18 - 20 touches a game not 10.

I think he could do well at the Suns if they use him efffectively.

Between Oleg and Bobble theyve picked up some run thats for sure.

I think it’s fair all round.

Markov isn‘t best 25.

What made me laugh was the AFL site reckons he is worth a Suns round 3 pick but when I looked they don’t have a round 3 pick.

I reckon the club looked and decided to keep Broad over Markov as it appears at least one would get to the Gold Coast - correct call IMO if it fell that way as our defence has looked stronger with Broad in rather than Markov.

If we rate Wright, that is a good trade all round.
We have to do something about our ruck stocks. I am hopeful CCJ has learned his lesson and will return and become the player his potential indicates. With Soldo out for up to a season we only have CCJ as a genuine ruck option as Chol has so much more to learn before we can even think of him as even a second ruck. If no deal can be done for Wright ( I don't know his pedigree) then we have to pick up someone even for one year

Even if the Suns pick up Markov, overall we have done better on pick ups from the Suns than the other way round. We got Lynch and Prestia whereas the Suns had Bobble, C Ellis and Miles to date

Oleg for 2 metre Peter? Don’t think it’ll happen but I wouldn’t be upset.

Oleg's no loss. We have Egg and Naish for that role, notwithstanding their weakness in the contest (Markov was a bit better in that regard, but it was far from a strength of his).

We already have contenders for that role too. Stack's a natural for it if his head is in the game. Why not Aarts? Or Pickett? Maybe Rioli has to reinvent himself.

It may even be where Hugo or Cumberland end up in time, or someone we draft or recruit this year.

Markov is an obvious cut given reduced list sizes. His loss to the RFC is a gain only for Gold Coast's adult film industry.

Oleg for Wright would be a decent swap if we can get it done, but I don’t think the Suns would let it happen as a straight swap, they’d be wanting more than Markov.

When I’ve thought about it more stack is definitely the go here. Way ahead of Markov IF he gets his head right and also IF he apologises to the team in the right way And then has to stick with it. We are probably backing ourselves in here - he is future AA if he applies his talents.

We must also consider that CCJ and Stack have been outed for 10 weeks so no ruck backup for a significant part of the year.

They haven't played 2 metre in the seniors for two years, at least Lego has been playing some senior footy for the back to back premiers so perhaps we'd be entitled to a little top up sweetener coming back from Mould Coast.

I really don't think we will get a lot for him. An upgrade of 2nds for 2021 is what I think we might get.

2MP also has a contract (2 years I think). They won’t let him go cheap. They don’t have to. I doubt we’ll really get that much for Oleg. If he was getting a more regular gig maybe, but he’s not and that’s a large part of why he’s going elsewhere.
