The Geelong Cants

Hey, I like bagging Scott as much as the next Richmond supporter, but he gets a s***load of respect for that. Losing a Grand Final sucks, it has to happen to one of the teams on the day but it still sucks, 1982 will never be far enough in the past. I'll give him that one, it took a lot to go in there and congratulate Dimma and I would have to say he is a bigger human being than we get to see most of the time.

Mate - you’re being too kind to the sneering snarling shytehead
All he wanted to do was get the agony over and done with as quick as possible - for his own benefit not for Dimma or RFC
He‘s always been an angry ungracious prick and that’s how he’ll remain

He reckons they could still win after Menogla's goal '3 in 7 minutes, we can do it"
Menogla's goal was the 2nd goal in over 25 playing time.
Not sure he knew where he was in the last qtr. He was dizzy.

After watching that I reckon we broke Scott.
He was devastated.
He said during the 3qtr time break.
'Ran through them"
They couldn't even break into a jog after half time, not sure he was watching the same game.
The game was ours the minute we hit the lead.
Longer qtrs this year won't help

Chris Scott “if he kicks this we win” after Menegola knocks out his teammate.
Nek minnit.
Maybe he thought Geelong got 12 points from every goal.
He must've been dreaming when Menogla was lining up, he was about to win a flag.
They scored 2 goals in 38 minutes playing time, in a mini version of AFL.

not giving Scott props for anything. he's a nasty little thing and as inspirational a coach as a log.

Interesting observation about how Dimma focuses more on what we do and Scott more on the opposition.

I think Dimma's approach and message of only being able to control what we can control is an important aspect of our success.

Still, at 3/4 time Geelong were within a goal, had been outplayed for a quarter and Richmond just looked like the better team. He had to give his players a reason to believe. I would also have been talking about one bad quarter and how many times has a team made a huge effort to come from behind in the third quarter and then ran out of steam in the last as the team which was ahead at half time comes off their break and asserts itself again.

You try and win a GF any way you can, you try and push the players' buttons to get them to perform, you use anything to make them believe they can win. Within a goal at 3/4 time, if I was Geelong I would have thought I could win, and they could have, they are a very good team, we're just better :D :cupgold

There shouldn't be a surprise that Dimma never focuses on the opposition, it's been a consistent trait of his in all the coach clips since 2017. Even 2017 it was the players themselves, Grigg, who was pointing out that Adelaide had lost their connection.

Its all part of the big 2016 cleanout and realignment when Chocco was sacked. There was too much focus on the traditional highlight the deficiencies, work on what's wrong, instead of the current focus on the strengths and exploit them. It's a very valuable lesson in leadership in all walks of life.

Just watched the short video of the GF unseen on the AFL site. I know we all bag Scott but just before the end of the match he did show class when he went to our box to congratulate Dimma before the final siren

I agree it was a class act, but I also love Dimma at that point, screaming down the phone that whatever player he was talking to had to redeploy their role.

The other coach has conceded the win, Dimma is still coaching to the end. Great man and great coach.

I agree. It all seemed a bit forced and contrived for me. He will always be a sore loser for mine.

yep. why is it a "class act" what Scott did ? the guy behaves like a spoiled *smile* 99.9% of the time, has been full of disdain for us, and a few are giving him a little redemption because he goes to the Tiges box, .. pfft...
i'd like to pour a glass of milk on his head ..

Scott really is a Geelong Cant despite trying to be humble.

We smacked them and had a percentage in that game of 138% IN 60% OF A NORMAL GAME.

This is despite Vlastuin giving us nothing and Houli on the ground to fill up space only.

They are delusional.

He even uses it in his qtr time address.
BigV is gone, broad and Houli injured.
We were 2 down 2 for 97% of that game and will still came home like Doriumus.
I think one more win against them could have them do an Adelaide and self implode.

What really pissed me off was Dimma nearly missed “that” goal from Dusty!
Scott has no timing what so ever.
