GAME DAY - Tiges v Blues

I thought we were pretty good. 70+ inside 50s. Should have won by a fair bit more.

We were very rough. Long season, huge improvement will come.
Happy to win playing terribly.

We kicked 5.7.37 in the last qtr to their 3.2.18. That's 12 scoring shots to 5.

We finished far stronger in this all speed open game the new rules create.

Reckon we missed our captain tonight too.

Is it just me or was there more than 49,200 in attendance?
That crowd looked like at least 55,000 to me
 
4 goal win. That's about par for our opening games against the Blues.

Rusty, but we won. May have been ugly but it's 4 pts.

Hopefully the media will talk up the Blues and talk down our chances.

Just glad to get the 4 points.

I thought carlton were the much cleaner side for most of the game.

Very diaappointed in Baker and Lynchs games tonight. Big fan of Liam but thought he just got pushed aside way too easily. And lynch just doest have very clean hands and even the ones he marked were double grabbed, seems very rusty.

Cads did just enough to keep his spot.

Rioli and pickett should be fearful of their spots. Dan just doesnt do enough, while pickett adds grunt, but is too much of a liability with the ball.

Definitely will happen. Caro's probably upset as she had a chance to blow out the Dimma scandal again had we lost.

Baker very quiet.
Grimes kept away from the play.
Caddy looked slow.. I am a fan but was disappointed.
Prestia had a shocker .
Graham great as was Dusty and Jack.
We were very very rusty.
Balta terrific.
We are a long way off. Played terrible but won by four goals.
Need to look at covering fast exit from defence. Better sides will punish us.
Nothing in Astbury report.
We missed Houlies run big time .
Missed Cotch a lot.
We have five goals up our sleeve.

Agree with much of this but think you're a tad harsh on Baker. Did well in the second half.

Anyone wonder why Pickett wasn’t picked, just watch the game. Simply terrible. How he got picked before Ross is beyond me.

Yeah I thought Baker was very good in the second half. Super clean and his kick to jack on the left was a thing of beauty. Game is all about gut running now - no wonder Graham, Prestia and Lambert racked them up.

there was a fair bit of rust out there.

which isn't unusual in round 1
 
A good result to get a win with a lot of improvement to come. Carlton ran really hard tonight. They must have had a big pre season.
