Round 3 - other games

Roycy's tipping gets off to a great start. Not only the winner but the margin! How good is that...

I watched some of the first half. Geez, no pressure and turnovers galore. Was not a good game.

Nice to hear that Fitzroy won with a kick after the siren :D

So McKay from Blues kicks 4 on Moore and they praised Moore like he was BOG.
Now Daniher gives him an all-mighty belting with18 disposals, 8 marks and kicks 3 goals 3 behinds. Joey should have kicked 5.
Wonder what the media will say about Moores performance.

Used to enjoy watching a qtr here n there of opposition games, sometimes even a half or whole game as there'd be some decent high pressure contested footy.
Barely watch five or ten minutes of a game now, usually just a quick score check. This open, uncontested, chip, chip, prop n change direction to start all over again is *smile* poor, bat *smile* boring crap.

All these wonderful game opening rule changes n teams still struggle to score, they just go round n round in circles really quickly. Phhhhht, pretty sure the correct term is Donuts AFL, you *smile* wits.

And yet all the commentators have nothing but praise for the new rules, all been told to read from the same play book
Good old Damo thinks it’s the best rule change ever
Game was super boring until the last few minutes, not what I want to watch, short, barely 15 m kicks, stand, stand, stand snoozefest
Hope it gradually breaks down as the season progresses, but with the players tiring, they may just opt to play safe and try to retain possession, if they are in front

Robinson today hearld sun
'Win kick starts premiership tilt"
The way Brisbane are going making the 8 should be an achievement.
No depth. Adams, dropped or fumbled every time he touched the ball.
McMyluggage, super player, but a very ordinary kick.
Birchall is finished, he is no luke Hodge.
Fullarton, Ballenden & Payne all reserves quality.
Not sure Robbo was awake prior to the goal after the siren.
It was a really shiit game of football.

Agree, I've always been open to change to increase the spectacle but the current changes have turned it into an absolute bore to watch. I don't enjoy open keepings off type footy, I enjoy hard at it, best player wins the contest footy and that doesn't happen much now.

How many kicks are no more than 10metres these days? Blind eye turned, then out of the blue, once in a while, ump calls play on no 15.

Buckley has tottally destroyed Collingwood.
Take away a father and son draft selection in Moore they would be cemented in the bottom 6.
I thought we had the worse game style in the early 2010's but Collingwood 'kick and mark' style is unbelievably bad.
Considering its a real
slow style, 99% of them were rooted 10 minute's in 3rd.
Sier, what is doing on a list?
Sidebottom its over, turned the ball over all night.
At one stage he kicked the ball out on the full and Taylor said 'that was a beautiful kick'
Degoey, is a forward, thats it, he has a tank of an 80 year old.
Howe should've been a tennis player, thats 2 weeks in a row he has gone to take a mark, when he shouldve punched and conceded a goal.
Buckley is hopless. I cannot stand how the media constantly refer him to a good coach.

Next they will make the players wear bibs with 'FB' 'FF' or 'CC" on them.
The 15 metre pass is the biggest issue, some players like Taylor Adams struggles to kick 12 metres.
Till the umpires stop paying the 10 metre passes the worse it will get.
Footscary get paid marks that would struggle to get to 10 metres.

Same here, TM.
I'd generally watch a couple of other full games per round but I'm just losing interest too quickly. Struggle to watch a full quarter now. Just leave it on the TV or laptop and check in periodically.

The muppets in the media make me laugh. All in lock step, spouting the AFL party line about how good the game is now. Problem is that the average footy punter thinks it's sh!t. TV ratings will drop off.

Then there's the scoring! I'm not seeing the great jump in scores that we were supposedly going to get. Look at last night - 73 v 72? WOW! That's massive! :vomit

They're just trying to hang in. Not sure how long Buckley can continue to bring in the Chris Maynes/Levi Greenwoods and lose before there's a supporter backlash. Madgen is 28 this month and I don't think he's the future either.
How did Collingwood pick up Quaynoor as a an academy selection??
Hows Hagan Pagan an academy selection for Footscary?
The only kids Collingwood have is Moore because of a FF selection and Quaynoor.
Penderbury is a 2 qtr player now,
Sidebottom is finished.
I just don't see where their future is?

Last night's game was a dog's breakfast. Absolutely bruise free first half followed by a woeful exhibition of kicking it straight down opposition players windpipes, spray painting the goal face, and keystone cops/Benny Hill comical mistakes. Missus and I laughed asses off. Scratched Brisbane off contenders list with massive black marker.

Its a load of shiit.
People might have it on but are they actually watching it.
I had it on last night buy spent all night reading posts on the forum.

Did the AFL or sycophantic media ever consider that a lot of fans don’t want aimless, uncontested streaming up and down the ground like a game of basketball ? I couldn’t give a rats whether a team wins kicking 120 points or 80.

Last nights game wasn’t too bad in that respect but a number of them have been like uncontested pin ball.
