Maurice Rioli Jnr

Far too early to be giving MRJ a game.
I would have thought the same a month ago Tim, however from what I’ve seen he’s a lot fitter then expected, one things for sure he’s definitely a fitter footy type then decathlete . He’d be discussed at MC I’d say , which even they wouldn’t have thought possible during the pre season

I agree Mate. Everyone in the media is jizzing themselves about Kozi Pickett, and don’t get me wrong, he’s looking great. I think Maurice Jnr has all the same attributes and I’d throw him in and see what happens. He has the toughness to withstand bumps, tackles well, his evasiveness is amazing, and he’s quick of mind and hand.
It’s really just whether he can handle the faster tempo. I don’t expect 10-15 possessions from him, just chase and tackle and follow the role he’s given. Might take more exposure at the lower level? Not sure but think he’d offer more than Jake Aarts? Has some great qualities and seems a natural footballer to me.
edit: forgot to add that endurance is my only real concern with MJR.

As hes got fitter he’s definitely quicker then I thought tf61, I still liken him to Cyril not because he’s related just the traits, not quite the ballisticness of Cyril, but I think he’s going to be all right

So he’s a combination of Kozi Pickett and Cyril?

Cyril also won a Premiership in his first year. We’re the experts at that: Graham, Pickett.

I am sure he'd offer more than Aarts.

If he had more than 0 tackles, he still beats Aarts on his weekend.

Let's not start measuring a Rioli by disposal count.
Agree. A 7 game possession from a Rioli is far more effective than someone getting 15-20 cheap kicks. It’s also what they do without the ball that’s immeasurable.

That exactly Cyril Rioli's career.
Averaged under 12 possessions a game.

If we can get Pickett, Stack and MRJ in the same side,

there's gonna be some real physical carnage on the field
