GAME DAY - TIGES V SAINTS

had to listen to the Saints being talked up all week. Ooooh their pressure will trouble us. Ooooh they have super forwards. Now we have brushed them aside, where does the conversation turn?

The relentless pressure we brought, especially after quarter time, undoes teams that relies on run & carry. St Kilda dropped away in second half but we kept going which was great. Next week against Melbourne will see if we’ve learnt from the early season losses.

Never saw that coming and would probably call out anyone who said they did...

Wow. Haven’t seen us decimate a team early in the season for a long time. Outstanding performance. I thought our first 3 games this year were pretty ordinary but we should have won last week and in hindsight it showed we were back on our way. I thought we’d win tonight but was concerned by the Chernobyl factor. That we destroyed a team that is usually very strong at Chernobyl is a great sign and shows that the hunger is still there. Also I think there is plenty of improvement; we still left goals on the table. But the famed pressure was back.

Let’s put the upstart Demons back in their box next week; on our ground!

Gee commentators were lost for words for three quarters. They were pathetic.

And note to channel 7 - you can’t have Watson and Selwood on together. I feel dumber for having to have listen to them both!

I’m re-watching it now and David King’s prediction before the opening bounce makes me laugh:

“Whoever can do the basic, brilliantly, for longer, will win”.

Pickett was awesome - reckon it was his second best game of his career.

He was great in the ruck at times - gee he can elevate himself - he was jumping at least a foot higher than his opponent at times. No wonder we dominated the centre clearances at times with Pickett rucking and a Bolton and Edwards in the centre as well, who could predict what those 3 would do (can’t remember who the other player was).
