The one in front of goals that resulted in a free and goal? Pickett had his arm out and head high, whether it made contact or not doesn't really matter. Had he tackled and wrapped up Bullen it would have been our free, or at worst a ball up.

But no, go the low percentage bump and and give away another goal. It's exactly what I'm talking about with Pickett.

Do you know how much space he made up to even be able to get to that contest? He was at least 15m further away from the ball than Neal-Bullen was. Pickett made mistakes at times with taking too much time with the ball but he did as best as he could with that one. The Dees got some fortuitous frees inside 50 tonight, they blew a few of those but they were still paid.

If he made it there in time to bump, he had time to tackle.

Not sure why ppl are bagging on Pickett. If Rioli and Aarts put in as much effort tonight we might have made something of it. Yeah he made some blues but he covered the whole ground all night with plenty of effort while others were jogging about

I thought Houli was quite poor. His kicking was sub standard for some reason. At the ground it was quite noticeable it was lacking its usual penetration.
Houli's kicking has been shithouse in every game all up and under hospital kicks, he has no venom or penetration in his kicks possibly due to his lack of conditioning from his long term injury and recovery.

He's also slow (looks as if hes running in cement) and fumbly and has not improved in any of these facets in any game since his return.

Decision making has been poor also and very slow to move the footy also unlike him.

The seconds got smashed as well. By all accounts as listless as the seniors.

Did anything go down at the club this week? Are we on a heavy training load? Someone's dog died? Dimma announced his engagement?

Its was an unRichmondy performance.
I wondered about that

With the larger break between games i wondered if we had an extra or longer training session than we should have..

Every kick was a hospital up and under tonight. It was like he was kicking with a pitching wedge!

60 i50s suggests we had our chances but don't have guys who can sniff a goal.
Watched one guy running around in the VFL who could help with that, it's time to end the Caddy farce & throw him back up forward.

Well maybe the Deez have done a big favour to us tonight and hopefully shaken any complacency and self adulation out of the group if it had been manifesting.

A moral victory in Adelaide which was in fact a poor loss.

Overhyped drubbing of a Saints outfit that have been dead set struggling.

Reality might hit us harder again next week if we get humped by the Dogs which is looking very likely to be the case on exposed form.

The days of a forward line having 3 pressure forwards is done..Should have been done a few years ago if we are being honest.
We need to redevelop our forward line into one fully of players whose primary strength is to kick and create goals , apply pressure second...

the bloke was strolling into goal.

Marlion had the speed to get there to rub his throat a bit.

the ruck push in the back was careless if not dumb.

But he played well all night

Yeah the biggest issue I had with him was that push in the back, it allowed them to break the scoreboard open in the 2nd. From memory we were a goal down at that point and it was a very dumb free to give away.

But overall I have him votes, he covers a lot of ground and did quite a lot of good things tonight too.

at the height of the midget era,

one out of three played well each week.

if Buts and Danny didn't get ya, George would.

we've had all 3 play poorly in our 2 bad losses this year.

the take home message is we need to tweak the midgets.

which doesn't sound very politically correct.

But I guess what im trying to say is,

play MRJ FFS.

A different tack. Thought the 56,000 crowd was poor. Thought when they were pushing for 85% capacity that it meant that ticket sales were approaching 75,000.
