Dustin Martin

Has to be something, like the corkie in 2018 that slowed him down.
Something imo is affecting him and bringing backwards to the levels of other players.

Dusty wouldn't be Dusty without his team mates. When we we're running helter skelter in the forward line, all over the place, Dusty could look up towards goal and see something, or a few things, he could do, and then do it with perfection. With our current stagnant game style upfront I imagine he looks up and sees nothing much.

He gets no cheap ball. He is still getting 20 or more touches a game but it's all so contested or rushed.

I feel he doesnt get the cheapies the other stars in the league do.

His teammates. The style of play. Lack of team confidence.

Pretty much what we as supporters see from the stand, or on TV

Are you saying we've seen the best of Dusty jimbob?
Be amazing if we hadn't. Best and most influential finals player in history. Without doubt. Arguably past his physical prime, probably past his mental prime and in a team you could argue is on the slide. I doubt we will see dusty exceed any previous performances at the tigers, he may not get the same opportunity.

He almost looked human.
Where is he at? Is he injured?
Additional workload?
Teams putting more time into him?

Numbers are down across the board. I can't believe i'm saying it but we need a bit more from the Champ tbh.
Caroline Wilson mentioned on Footy Classified a week or so ago that she's heard suggestions he's carrying something to do with his ankle or achilles. Who knows if there's any truth to that though.

I think we're lightening him off for durability, bozo. And maybe the foot was a factor. And still is?

Something is seriously amiss with our champ. He has lost consistency and power in packs.

He's been very disappointing this season. The lack of midfield mates to cover his lack of defensive effort (licenced by the coach) has really shown. He's our champ and always will be but he shouldn't be immune from criticism where it's warranted.

About 5/10 atm on the Dusty scale. He's sure not helping us win right now for whatever reasons.
Can say he's a 3 time Norm Smith medalist in the past but right now his lack of form is a key issue.

Like a number of our senior players, if not carrying an injury he has been affected by a club related issue. There can be n other reason for his and others form to drop off a cliff as it has

In an interview Neil Balme gave to The Age he mentions Dustin is still having trouble with his foot:

Balme said Martin, 30, was dealing with a sore foot that was “bothering him a little bit”.
Hardwick referenced the issue after Martin had been concussed in the loss to Melbourne in round six.
The three-time Norm Smith medallist had a relatively modest 19 touches against the Magpies on Sunday - one of only two times he has not had at least 20 this season when completing a full game. But he had the last of his two 30 possession-plus performances against St Kilda in round five.

“He is coping reasonably well with that [foot]. He won’t want that to be used as an excuse but he still has his impact. We would probably like a little bit more but it might happen this week,” Balme said.
