Steve Hocking

richmond conquered. mission accomplished.

but the main priority is goals. goals = ads

so, therefore the stand rule won't survive. some teams use it to move the ball even slower (geelong)

despite their geelong bias, the AFL won't cop that

Be patient, it will go once the clubs give the feedback on how bad the games become
If the rulemaker can’t see how bad it is with his own eyes, I don’t hold out much hope that being told what a *smile* rule it is will change his mind
The only hope is with the continued low scoring, channel 7 gets in his ear about how the lack of ads they can show during their broadcasts is hitting their bottom line. Less revenue for them means less dollars offered when broadcast rights come up.

You would think the head honchos of all the clubs would stand up to this lot & say enough is enough but then I suppose they are neutered by the AFL Commission. When you run your eye over the appointees of the AFL Commission one must observe who is in it & who aint. SHocking has a lot of heads there wonder if he stands down from them once he entrenched at Corio Bay.

When they do the AFL fans survey there may be a question about the stand rule.

No way, they will not ask a direct question about this as they know what the answer will be.

They might try and come up with some devious question which they can interpret as support.

The more games I see the more I dislike this bloke. I don’t mind Gil however if he let this bloke destroy the game for as long as he did , questions have to be asked

Its impossible to watch other games now.
Channel flicks, fast forward, watch the last 2 minutes.
Its hard mate. The Smurf ran the length of the 50 3 or 4 times without bouncing the ball.
Footscary are the only team allowed to kick 8 metres.
And the Stand rule only a kokweed could come up with such a ridiculous rule.
** I thought Treloar and Dunkley were meant to make Footscary better

I'm the same.

I can't Stand Hocking. He should change his name to Stand Hocking, Stand with a silent D

It's hard to believe that Stand played the game at the highest level.

Stand's transition from player to bureaucrat was seamless, traitor

Our failure to make the eight has been blamed by many
on the introduction of this new rule.
But it probably has more to do with our failure to adjust.
Putting to one side the impact the rule has had on scoring, and the ‘aesthetics’, of the game, which now looks more like soccer, we still persevered with the selection of players with poor disposal, and at the mid year draft, we still took Parker.
Balmy has done a magnificent job at Richmond. Hate to see him go as he maybe the one person there who can get the coaches to ‘adjust’.

I normally just go with the flow and basically don’t have an opinion on the AFL staff, however hes incompetence and panicking rushed through changes have with no doubt made our great game worse for both players and spectators. In a funny way COVID has probably covered up the amount of people who have lost interested in the game, with so many people home it’s made the TV ratings appear like everything is hunky dory . It’s endless he’s poor decisions however the holding the ball or throwing the ball or whatever it is has really destroyed the fabric and made it so frustrating for players and spectators again.

It really pisses me off that this disgrace has been able to walk away from the mess his created with nothing said , again I think it shows the gossip columnists have no idea about the game so they don’t comment on it.

SHocking could be the nicest bloke on the planet, however I doubt there’s many important who have been so poor at such an important role. ( I have no understanding of politics :)) )
