Browneye says the club has no issue on Pricky's tenure. Going backwards fast is this club.

Like us in 18..... cross the line and you're fit to play. Suck it up cats!
I don’t think Dimma or the club came out and said that we had players sick. Quite sure we didn’t. It was just ‘rumours’ we had circulating to explain that PF 18 performance.
There was also talk that we took players who had been carrying injuries for some weeks also and it finally caught up on us. Dusty, Lambert to name a few.

Sometimes I think of those last few weeks where we should have lost some games as we looked tired. The smashing of the Hawks who shouldn’t have made top 4 led us to believe ‘falsely’, maybe ‘over confidence’ . We could have afforded to drop a few games as we finished clearly on top.

BUT it took an American who has now been ‘outed’ by the Pies to possibly stop us maybe equally 4 in a row.

Anyway they say let go of the ‘past’ but there are times the past play a part in the present & future.

It spurned us on in 19/20.

I could have all my info wrong.

Pretty sure it was reported in The Age around the time that Astbury had spent time in hospital on a drip in the week leading up to the match. There were also reports that we’d sort permission from the AFL to use additional players beyond our nominated emergencies because we had so many players in doubt.

From memory the only official acknowledgment of it was Hardwick admitting post match that Martin was not right and his now famous “*smile* happens” comment at the B&F.

Yeah I've noticed that too. Thought it was just us Richmond supporters. Although if it was us winning last night not sure there would be a similar sentiment.

any team that is successful for a sustained period becomes hated by most. Fair enough, they keep beating your side so you end up resenting them.

Same thing happened to us.

There's an awful ot of failures each season if that is the case.

Broadly speaking, I think you would find most clubs consider making the finals somewhat of a success and making the top four to be a success, and winning the flag the ultimate success.

I reckon most businesses would be happy to be top four of 18.
Probably right as far as how the clubs feel internally goes.
But for the fans, it’s a flag or nothing.
