Not sure if this one has been suggested but - CCJ + 44 for North’s 2022 second round? Considering we may probably not end up using 44 could suit both parties?

The Dogs’ pick 17, which the club is keen to trade for multiple later draft picks that can secure them more ranking points to help cover a bid for star father-son prospect Sam Darcy than the pick 17 alone would draw, is being sought as a potential circuit breaker in talks for the trades of both Dawson and Coleman-Jones.
Under a trade scenario being canvassed on Tuesday, Adelaide would trade later picks to the Bulldogs for pick 17 but only on the proviso that the pick was sufficient to satisfy the Swans in an exchange for Dawson.
The Crows and Bulldogs were content with the arrangement, but Sydney rejected the deal as insufficient compensation for the player who had come third in their best and fairest.
Richmond and North Melbourne, meanwhile, have also begun discussions with the Bulldogs on a trade for Callum Coleman-Jones that would involve pick 17. Under that scenario, the Dogs would improve their points position, Richmond would secure pick 17, and North would slide a few places in the draft.
Bulldogs get North's pick 20, Chol compo pick 38 + North's pick 40 = 1806 points... They need 1787 if Darcy is bid at pick 3...North agree not to bid for him... So Bulldogs are covered for Darcy..
North get Richmond's pick 26 + CCJ.
Richmond get Bulldogs pick 17 + Tarrant + (? WB future pick)
Probably a few swaps of late/future picks but could be win for everyone.

The guy's mind is made up anyway, convincing him to stay won't happen. A deal will be done.
Just going on the story but there would likely be also a swap of future/late picks. Likely a higher Bulldogs future pick to Richmond in a swap. Can only guess from that article.
Pick 17 might be very valuable to Richmond to even package it up again to target certain draft picks. Might be looking to make a play for GWS pick 2, CGS pick 3 or Adelaide pick 4. Who knows? Even 7, 15, 17, 28 + 47/(other future swaps?) & Tarrant is a very strong hand.
Probably have to view all trades combined at the end rather than just looking at the CCJ trade on it's own.

we'd be at about pick 16, en route to a package deal for pick 2
From memory, the Nathan Buckley year 2? trade started the free agency conversation, allowing players to nominate clubs after loyal service?
Now everyone does it and it seems widely accepted and accommodated.

Maybe they need to modify free agency along the lines of parole? so its not arbitrarily time based, but professionalism based?

We burnt picks 17 and 20 in 2017.
Now we have a player convinced he wants to leave to our worse available option.
And the final result will be a pick in the 30's.

That Age Story was pretty weak on details.
Think if 17 is in play then Bulldogs will have to add a future pick in the mix with Richmond. Maybe mutiple pick swaps.
Straight up Pick 17 is worth 1025 but say they are getting enough for points Darcy in a 3 way deal (around 1,800 points). Probably end up with something involved with the value of the Bulldogs future second round going to Richmond.
I still don't like the idea of helping out other clubs.
They went for Treloar last year knowing full well Darcy was in play this year.

i said yesterday we should just accept pick 38 and get on with it. but I have changed my mind. when we have 7 picks in the top 44, pick 38 from Norf is meaningless. we might not even use it. So the club may as well risk lettng him go to the PSD by trying to get a better pick. I'm sure if Norf was able to get us a pick in the late 20's, the club would do the deal. they may even send a later pick back.
But pick 17 could be used for Tom Mitchell or be used as a swap to get into the top 4 picks of the draft. We can't refuse to swap pics out of vindictiveness. That gets you nowhere

Yes, but are we really "helping" Footscray getting their pick 17 for a pile of picks we are unlikely to use anyway?
Those later picks, especially with reduced list sizes, seem to be of little value to any club except a club which needs points for matching bids.
Seems to me we are helping ourselves as well as the club we trade with.
