I hope Blair offers 15 for O'Meara if we can fit him in our salary cap. We need another quality mid to have a decent crack at it. We will still have plenty of picks in the draft.

adding talent with our first 2 draft picks then getting O'Mera and Mitchell for picks in the 20s would be a huge win.

Maybe JOM is making enough from the property game that he’d be happy to come to the Tiges on match payments :))

I would hold out on the hawks until the last possible moment. They are going nowhere with jom, Mitchell, wingar, Breus, McEvoy. Good enough to keep them 12-14 for the next three years. That is no mans land in the afl. No bottoming out and no success.

come the 11th hour our pick 26 might be good enough for wingard, jom or Mitchell.

how about 15,26,28 for all three and the hawks can pay their wage.

Blair on Sen this morning
The transcript
Garry "lets welcome the king of the Rookie draft'
'Thanks Gary and Timmy for having me on"
Garry "For a club that struggles at the draft, you have a shittload of picks'
Hartley 'Yeah after 2017 where i couldnt pick my ass let alone any quality kids, i thought i would take a year off and we just passed them on to other clubs and now i have sooo many, i dont know what to do"
Timmy 'have you tried to pick swap to get a higher pick?"
Hartley 'Yeah but it dosent work when i mention im from Richmond'
Gary 'is it true you were prepared to give away 3 high picks for one untried kid,"
Hartley "Yeah honestly i would've offered North Melbourne all our picks for the next 3 years"
Tim 'why is that?"
Hartley 'because we wouldve burnt most of them any way. Fken Kids wanted to play for the team they barracked for, others leaving for new opportunity"
Gary 'have you got a plan to use all these picks,"
Hartley 'no im shittting myself, theres this *smile* supporter that emails and tells me that i couldn't draft a talented kid to save myself"
Tim ' But you have won 3 flags"
Hartley "Yeah true but 80% team are from Terry Wallace's era and the Rookie draft"
Garry 'Thanks for coming on'
Hartley 'do you think i said the right things?"

Blair doing the rounds today - SEN and now Trade Radio.

For those, like me, who might only read the Tweets (b/c the show itself is pretty bad), here's the tweets on what Blair said. I am a fan of his big time. Respectful, humble, measured.

'We've always admired Robbie's game from afar. With Dave Astbury retiring a year or two earlier than expected, we'll look to Robbie to support our back six.' - Blair Hartley re Robbie Tarrant

"We have got some guys that people haven't really heard about. We've got Samson Ryan, Noah Balta can go there. We've got some in the background that can go through that role." - Blair Hartley on if Richmond are short in the ruck/forward role

"It's one of those ones where you sit in your office and write it on the board and you think 'maybe they'll do that!'." - Blair Hartley on Richmond's offer for pick 1

'It was one of the more difficult ones I've worked through. The 5pm free agency deadline helped move things along, and Brady [Rawlings] and I got there in a really positive manner, I feel.' - Hartley on dealing with North Melbourne for Coleman-Jones, Tarrant

"It's the emergence of some of our young guys, like Collier-Dawkins, Ross and Dow and Ralphsmith and Maurice Jr, Samson Ryan." - Blair Hartley on the young players who can step up for the Tigers next year

'Whoever gets the role will have the benefit of having Trent here alongside them. We've got a great leadership programme, and normally don't announce the captain until just before the season.' - Hartley on Richmond's vacant captaincy position

The return of Tarrant made North much better.
Thats a very good job getting him because Cathwaite isn't the answer

If we were willing to package up CCJudas and so many draft picks for North's first pick, we can't really rate the depth of this draft as being much good!

Or they have no idea whos good.
Then the question needs to be asked why bring so many picks in.
Its going to be really interesting in 2 years time to see the results of this pick stacking.
