7 and a future first for Callaghan. Overs.

Heres what is public knowledge, we tried to trade for Norfs, GWS, Crows & Hawks pick in the top 10. And we would have tried for all of the others as well. We then tried to trade in the teens for the Bombers, Dockers and Lions pick.

Clearly we were active and tried to get our picks as high as possible. That’s all you can ask, be active.

Been mentioned before by some, but I wonder if a lot of clubs try harder to find other options before trading with us than they do with other clubs. Or maybe our brick walls just get publicised more than other teams because a negative Tiges story is always a good one.

Top 30 picks were very tightly held this year compared to previous years. Bodes well for the strength of this years group.

We were very active trying to trade it seems & we didn't offer anything stupid to get it done at any cost. More than happy with that!

We should have tried to get the Tigers #7/9 pick. Mind you those guys are complete arseholes to deal with. Probably wouldn't have got done.

Sonsie’s seamless VFL transition a fine sign for his future

It was Tyler Sonsie’s form in a one-off appearance for Hawthorn’s VFL affiliate Box Hill during the 2021 season that set AFL talent scouts’ tongues wagging.

We must have rated Horne as that game breaker mid level like Pettraca/Oliver were this year and Cotch/Dusty have been for us.
