Any newspaper that Heart and Balm had to be amongst our favorites.I'm sure there was some media issue as to why they never used him again as the no 1 reporter in the AFL.....which p!ssed me off at the time.
As an adolescent in the early 80s, I loved walking into a newsagency to use the footy excuse as to why I want to have a quick look through The Truth newspaper....
And also the immortal Jack Dyer's, Dyer 'ere every week, must reading............and lookingAny newspaper that Heart and Balm had to be amongst our favorites.
Yep, the likes of both Tom Browne and Tom Morris couldn't hold a candle to Scotty Palmer. Now we have to put up with so many pretenders who could never compare to Scotty, including the grand poobah of pretenders in Blobbo

Keep on punching Scotty.
My memory is not quite as sharp these days, but was Scotty related to the famous boxing coach Ambrose Palmer? Hence the punchlines. That's cos Palmer was a real Journo as opposed to a cardboard cut out or sock puppet
Ain’t that the truth. Todays “jounos” (use that word loosely) and media personalities are a dirty bunch.Yep, the likes of both Tom Browne and Tom Morris couldn't hold a candle to Scotty Palmer.

Yep, in a nutshell, Scotty was genuine.Scotty was a real showman, and he had genuine passion and respect for the game, something that very few of the current crop have.
Hadn't heard that, he might be and that would explain the "keep on punching".My memory is not quite as sharp these days, but was Scotty related to the famous boxing coach Ambrose Palmer? Hence the punchlines.
I think the catch cry was because he was a boxing fan. He may have also covered the sport. Plus Palmer’s Punchlines was wonderfully alliterative.Hadn't heard that, he might be and that would explain the "keep on punching".
Ambrose Palmer was the trainer of the great Johhny Famechon.
