Hope Caesar enjoyed his holidays.
Nose back to the grindstone now mate
I have bought a one way ticket to Darwin for the 10th Feb to do some Barra fishing so there will be a couple of weeks of silence from me.

I need a 6cm upgrade to this 94cm catch, ( from my last trip in 2017), to join the metre club.

I have included a photo of my catch in 2017 in above post now, it came on day 10 of a 10 day fishing trip, fishing had been poor as there was a tropical low and the Barra had been off the bite. Needless to say that made the trip for a novice like me. I'm an amateur I don't even change my own lures or untangle my bird nests, my mate who has his own Barra boat and has lived in Darwin for 15 years does that for me:D

Thanks @fastin bulbous @eZyT mentioned you live up in that part of the world and a keen Barra Man. My mate who lives up in Darwin is fishing the Daly at the moment, yesterday he caught 11 lost 11 about the 80cm mark. He said there was heavy rain overnight, about 100mm in 24 hours, reckons fishing is close to going off its head. I'll get him to hunt up that lure for me and yes I'll probably lose it on my first cast as i am far from accurate ;) .
You fishing anywhere in particular at the moment?, we'll probably take in Shady Camp and Daly whilst I'm up there although I am the tourist and my mate the guide.

Cheers

We’ve been on severe weather warnings for 3 days now and the wet is on! You should have a great time. I lived on a little island in Arnhem Land and have moved to Darwin so I’ve opted out for now. I had it too good for too long to want to compete at the boat ramp and at every spot. Sold my boat last year. Have a great time mate and remember that the slow retrieve under pressure wins the big bara!

Perfectly understandable, you would have been spoilt fishing in Arnhem Land, fighting for spots at the boat ramps aren't much fun.
