Reckons him and the team were tired, under prepared etc. Said the longer off season was a blessing. Reckons he didn’t coach very well. Loves the Melbourne game plan - sort of suggested we might head back that way. We lost our way in terms of pressure and the contest. Very tough year personally with the split etc. Players will drive selection of the new captain which will be announced soon.

yep yep yep to all that , marriage separations are hard enough but for public figures with high expectations placed on them it must be hell

and a marriage split can affect a wide number of people obviously family , but friends , neighbours , work colleges can all be affected
and within the club he will have friends and close associates who will have hurt in some way from it

hopefully the dust has largely settled and that wont be a distraction this year

Great open and frank interview.
Pity Bucks did not have a similar interview or the scrutiny that Dimma had to put up with.

is it two contributing factors for Bucks
one with Eddie at the helm and protecting all things black & white journos didn't want to go hard at Bucks
two they were on the decline and not the big news story ?

Old news.
We were exhausted at round 2 last year.
It's a blessing in disguise that the boys were allowed the full 8 weeks off before preseason and it also took the heat off Hardwick.

There's no doubt Melbourne were the best team we came up against last season. They out 'Richmonded' us.
I appreciate Dimma's respect for them.
Injuries or not they're the new benchmark that won't be easy overcome. We've got a heap of work ahead & need a lot to go right.

I’m assuming Dimma intends for Balta to still start back but will be used forward in those instances where Riewoldt or Lynch are either injured or getting towelled up.

Can’t see us going with three talls in the forward line and play Nank and Soldo.
