Interesting. This year Ross has had 3.8 score involvements per game, KMac 1.8. Pretty massive difference even taking into account any bias.
i am shocked by this stat, doesn't match the naked eye observation at all. is that only richmond score involvements or opposition too? (tongue in cheek comment)

folks are happy with 'tidy' but I'd rather see Pickett / Banks or Pickett / Kmac

Ross just doesn't offer enough offensively - yes, even Kmac offers more.
I was at the game and thought he had his pants pulled down by the Melbourne wingers. On a few occassions when he had the ball and a Richmond player further up the field was free, Ross decided to order a coffee and have a smoke and by the time he finished them the Richmond player was covered. I'm sorry I don't know what you see in him. SLOW AS and decision making at times is terrible. Not an in and under player and too slow for an outside player. Rather give the kids in the VFL a game.

Spot on. Another plodder and we wonder why teams kill us when the ball goes the other way.
Although ill give him a small break as the coaches have thrown him to the wolves with playing him as a winger. Should have been told to bulk up significantly and become a bull around ball ups and CBs.

Dimmauchamp where else do you play him. Can't play midfield can't play halfback can't play forward. He is not a two way runner like Pickett or Macca. He is slow as a snail. Move him on to GC.

Dow RCD Ross need to be moved on at season's end. All of them have shown me nothing to get excited about. ALL PLODDERS.

I wouldn't move him on, but we won't win a premiership with him in the best 22 IMO. He's a back up player in the AFL in my view. I'd love to see Banks take that wing by the end of the year. I have high hopes for him.

Kmac is agricultural by foot but his kicking has more penetration that Ross

Ross is a classic up and under. his delivery by hand is often at team mates feet. he is Dan Jackson before Dan Jackson got miraculously better. complete momentum killer.
Right, that might be so, but Ross has provided much more via score involvements which happens to be the aim of the game. I don't see Ross as a momentum killer. He has a much better kick-to-handball ratio. I'd prefer to drop KMac than Ross for Pickett. Doubt it will happen though. I don't think either will be dropped.

We won’t win a premiership for sure. We just won 3 and are now stuck playing speculative picks while young guns mature. He may surprise us all and become a very handy role player or be a bust……but he won’t be anything unless given a run and a fair chance.

Early in his career he looked to be a midfield beast winning ball from contests and using his size to advantage. Seemed to all go pear shaped after his injury and the coaching group being hell bent on him losing size and becoming a runner. Look at Cripps. Slow as a turtle but his sheer size allows him to continually win the ball. I honestly saw Ross as our Cripps after his first few games. One thing Ross definitely aint is a winger. Never will be

So whose fault is it? Ross or the coaches?

Worth persevering with on the simple fact he can find the ball. Needs to be coached to work within his limits just like we did with Dan Jackson - eg kick long, never kick short etc. plus play him midfield and not wing.

Could he take Cotchins role when chimp leaves? Ross is only 21.

I get it's a no brainer he doesn't have Cotchs class, but surely there's a role in this area?

Edwards has lost it and lambert can't get on the field. If cotch retires too Dusty MIA.
We delist those 3. Who's left in the middle? Prestia, Bolton, Pickett, sonsie, MRJ, Baker. Stack, Balta Parker.

I'll always have high hopes for Ross. Just reckon he'll get better as he gets older.
