Spot on TOO. Dusty leaving for another club is the medias wet dream. When they wake up it will be a nightmare because he will finish as a one club player.
I mean, when your head coach continues to feed them I can see why the media reacts this way. Dimma just escalated this issue. If he was trying to support Dusty, then i think the opposite was the result. Media will escalate now. Was a dumb move by Dimma. Just dumb.

This whole ‘go to Sydney to escape media’ is nonsense.

It isn’t 2002 anymore. Dusty is a marquee player and would only be fanning the flames of a hungry media by creating a story.

At Richmond anything he does is now is a bonus. At Sydney every possession will be accounted against his salary.

Who can predict what Dusty will do, but if he thinks he can slink away to Sydney to escape the glare of the AFL then he’s in for a shock.

If it’s a lifestyle issue, that can wait a coupla years in the scheme of things.

Nah, he stays or retires

I can't see what the issue is.
IF Dusty wants to head north it won't be a straight swap with Glen Nugent.
Hardwick knows what he is doing.
He knows Dusty better then anyone else and he mightve heard the same rumours we all have and he wants the clowns (Who are in Dusty's ear,) you can have him but get ready to pay up.
Dusty has 2 yrs left on contract, it's better planning Richmond without Dusty then waking up one day and he is gone.

Not sure if you’re being condescending, hard to tell online, sounds like it. Pretty poor.

All I’m saying is if he wants to go, what other option do we have other than look to the future.

It was condescending, and agree it was poor.

The 'i support RFC' gets me everytime.

Ill try to be better

Yeah, as if hes gonna live in the blue mountains.

He'd get a penthouse in Bondi.

And The only difference will be punters will come up to him and say

'that cutout conversion was sick busty'

Theres no upside anywhere you care to look,

In dusty not playing for richmond.

The concept is emotionally, spiritually, culturally, financially, philosophically, empirically,

Bankrupt.

Things of this type dont happen in fairy tales.

Like it, ,dustin martin is a fairy tale,

Who kicks off his outstep
Absolutely unthinkable.
With truely surprising comments coming out of Richmond, even from Dimma.

A few days back the Club President goes to the trouble of repeating a recent conversation with Dusty in which he assured her he would play out his days at Richmond. Some time back Brendan also reminded Ralph Carr that Duty's contract tied him to the Tigers until the end of the 2024 season.
Even if this coach has decided that he wants to trade Dusty, he is an employee of the RFC, and it is not in his employers interest to tell Dusty or the Sydney clubs that Richmond would be willing to allow him to break his contract.
Ditto his equally surprising comments about MP.
His lawyer would have loved that.

I was thinking the same as you but now reflecting back I think Hardwick has handled this perfectly. We through our support around when he briefly left the game. We put the individual first and their well being. Winning games of football was secondary. Then he comes back and we again throw our support around him if (big if) he wanted to leave. Does Hardwick really want Dusty to leave - absolutely not. But the PR exercise has again lifted the club to the top of tree. It shows the care we have for our players. Its a perfect advertisement for any prospective new players wanting to come on board.

That comment was about Dusty potentially retiring not playing for another club.

How do you reckon Blair Hartley feels about the comment?

When Sydney roll up with a 2nd rounder for Dusty at the end of the year and Blair asks if that's a joke? Kinnear Beatson reminds Blair that Dimma is happy for Dusty to leave if he wants to go and won't stand in his way. Difficult for Blair to convince Sydney that Dimma's view is not the club position.

Dimma has thrown a few people under the bus this week with his stupid comments.
The last two years hasn’t been great.

Someone have a ‘quiet word in his ear’ , please.

If this were somehow come to fruition, there will a lot of kids who adore Dusty left a little confused and ‘teary eyed’.

That’s just the kids !

I agree Aces,

Unlike hawks, our winning culture will endure between dynasties.

dimma, benny and peggy understand our cultural formula,

Cause they wrote it, enacted it, and revelled in it.

(And jeff kennett isnt at richmond)

They will work against its erosion as long as they breathe i reckon.

The other element i reckon at play, is magnamanity is a commodity tightly held by the victorious.

And everyone who matters,

Knows Dusty will never, ever, leave the richmond footy club.

Ever

Any reason you wouldn't recommend said hairdresser for Dustys consideration?

FWIW, I thought Dimma answered it perfectly yesterday.

If you listen to the entire question and answer, it’s fine.

If Dusty leaves us as a contracted player you would think that the deal to get it across the line could potentially set us up for sustained success in the future.

If he stays we still have the champ running out for us in the yellow and black.

Don't get me wrong, I want Dusty to stay, but the rational side of my brain tells me which ever way it goes it is a win for us.
Until our team has to face an opposition including Dusty playing against us?

unreserved apology to those offended by my vulgar word picture I painted of the AFL media.
