Jack Riewoldt [Merged]

Happy for Jack to go around 1 more year. Holding no one back from the 2nds. Expect a couple more to pull the pin (inclusive of Caddy). Never had speed, very smart, even with 2 flags with Tom the chemistry is really now working well, positioning, spacing etc. Can still kick the ball 50m.

Value there if he wants 1 more season in 2023 IMO. Perfect to then draft 1 or 2 195+cm key forwards in the upcoming draft.

I'd give him a ten year contract.

I hope he can pass Nick's games. (336)
Currently minus 25.

Also Kennedy/Shovekins are close on Goals.
Kennedy 700. Shovekins 688.

Jackmond 728 (+28 and +40).

Kennedy is a year older. Hoping he pulls the pin end of this year.

That will leave Shovekins.

Can imagine Salty pleading with Shove:
They've got us on flags.
You've gotta keep playing until 40 just to get passed The German Menace.
It's all we've got. They've got us covered everywhere.
BTW, don't mention that outside.

He does not appear to finished yet by a long way.

I’d have no problem with him going around for another year if he wants to. He still contributes and always takes at least one decent defender.

Boy this thread flips quickly…. I’ll watch with the popcorn after a couple of inevitable quiet games…

Yeah, it always amuses me when an older player has a good game and the posts are "he could play another 5 years" and when they play a bad game it's "he should retire".

I did that within the game against the Pies. I had him on his way out at half time, but by the end of the game he was ready for a contract extension. In the cold light of day though, it's hard to imagine getting another year out of him, unless he's well aware half of it could be in the VFL.

I will get canned for this but I sure hope he retires this year. We need new kids in new forwards to learn the craft otherwise we’re gunna be s##t as even though lynchy has had a few good games he is still a concern.

Still very clever but speed and leap are falling off substantially.
Can’t see him staying on in 23 but if there is a big trade offer on Soldo or Nank,
and Ryan and Colina don’t look ready then who knows.

Apologies for the lack of technical prowess in the posting of the above.
Pretty sure our departed friend @L2RTR just merrily hacked his way through the front door of any newscorp article.
