2022 - March to the finals

Just been looking at the draw and given that the Tiges have one game and good percentage in hand,do we think the eight is settled already? For me I would love Geelong to finish ninth but that loses our chance to inflict more finals pain on them..............

History tells us that the 8 barely changes after R8.

We need to go 10-3 at least if we’re a chance for top 4. Not sure if we're good enough to do it.

Starting to get worried about last quarter fadeouts.

5th /6th could be a good finish for us this year.
Not worried we’ll lose to 7th/8th at all.

Could get a semi v Carlton or saints
Then we could get a prelim v Melbourne and if we are good enough to meet that challenge : a GF V an interstate team.

Brisbane with a banana peel against the hawks.

Looks like pies will do dockers in Perth in the wet - if that happenS we are a game and roughly 10% (and shrinking) out of fourth.

Comp super even outside of the bye teams (eagles, north, Essendon) and Melbourne at the top end.

Top four may well open up a little more if there are some more slip ups.

We haven't beaten any team above us on the ladder that we have played so far this season.

Thus, this coming game against the Swans is our first real litmus test - to prove we are on the way up!

I'm pretty sure Collingwood were above us when we played them, but generally agree with the sentiment. This run of 4 games will tell us where we are at.

Whilst talking ladders stc we are 2nd for Points For but 10 for Against. Does this mean we are deliberately less defensive so we can score more?
We are 4 goals a game less defensive than dees. All recent premiers including us are in top handful defensively.

Free losing to Mel us beating swans are the two likely outcomes that will benefit us.

Want Melbourne to win out basically. Plenty of top 8 teams haven’t played them yet (only us and st kilda)

Well the next 4 games will show us where we are at. 3 scheduled during evening prime time and 3 at the G

Sydney - Friday night away
Port - Thursday night at the G
Carlton - Thursday night at the G
Geelong - Saturday twilight at the G

The Roar saying we need to win 3 of these to be genuine contenders

6-5 and now we have next 4 at the G, GC at Metricon (winnable), lolnorf and Freo both at the Dump (really winnable) and then 3 out of last 4 at the G. Can be done unless WE f*ck it up.

Agree but somehow I think tonight’s loss against Sydney has made top 4 highly unlikely.

We never were gonna make up top 4 with this team. Just get in the finals 5-8 and we go from there.

Your probably right but at the moment there are the Dees and Lions and maybe the blues if they hold form - otherwise that 4th spot is as wide open as a chook raffle run in the local pub

Going to be a tough ask from here. To make 8, 11 wins were required last year, 12 in 2020, 13 in 2019. At this stage it looks like 12 will be the go. So need 6 wins from the last 11. 4 games are against top 8, haven't beaten a top 8 yet. If that trend continues, need 6 from 7 against the others, 3 of those are middle table 11th to 13th. We're clearly a middle of the table team.
