Just on this thread. The suburban cinema complex I was at last night was virtually empty on a Friday night.
The pandemic has rocked movies as much as any industry. The rise of big screen TVs, coupled with overblown costs & health concerns has really dampened the experience. It's sad but I think we're going to see a lot of these multiplex's go the way of the dinosaur soon. The rents they pay must be massive compared to what they're taking at the box office.

Spot on. Plus there is a lot of really good content on streaming and with a reasonable sound bar set you can get really good sound for ~$500-$1000 that you feel (like in the theatres)

Watched Brads Status last nite with Ben Stiller. Really good message. Sums up life versus what goes on in your head.

Oh geez, I hope not.

The expectations will be so high that it will inevitably fail when compared to the original.
A friend feels the same way. She said you can’t improve on perfection. I asked whether she rated it 10/10. She said yes.

I suggested the sequel might go to 11.

Sadly, I thought this was funnier than she did.

Anyway, I hope Fran Drescher is involved. And Billy Crystal.

The Mrs has bought us tickets to see Top Gun: Maverick tonight.

The reviews have been surprisingly good.

Can't wait.

thinking of Ray Liotta

Steven Soderberghs 'No Sudden Move' is pretty fantastic and full of amazing performances

Saw it today with the wife in Gold Class.

im tipping you’ll enjoy it. ;)

Sure did Tim.

Thoroughly enjoyable.

Might go see it again at IMAX.

Tom Cruise might be *smile* bonkers, but he sure knows how to make entertaining movies.

My god these Agatha Christie remakes with Kenneth Branagh as Poirot are disastrous. All green screen and CGI sh!t.

I watched it in IMAX. Now I'll take the kids to watch in a standard cinema, one at a time. Then I might bring the wife to see it in Gold Class.

They had a good run with 20-something films all with the same sort of plot.

Craig’s Casino Royale is easily the best.

They’ll milk a few more but unless the new 007 wows audiences (which I doubt), it’s done as a behemoth franchise.

Would go to see it again.

True story.

Will not find it advertised on mainstream media.

Tests your faith. More in how we humans treat one another.

Top Gun Maverick. Americans and their monumental egos. Cringeworthy, Cheesy, Corny, Predictable. 5/10
Cheesy, corny and predictable yes, cringeworthy? No. But what were you expecting?
