Assuming Tarrant plays - if not Miller for Tarrant

I really like the Stack, MRJ combo up forward - suits out bombing style - thought as a combo they were ok in the only game they played.
This does leave us a little too reliant on Nank in the ruck mostly because we dont have an obvious 2nd ruck option with Balta out. Will have to do this by Committee or play Soldo - I still prefer the former.

Apparently the cats are doubling down on a heavy training load so they can peak in September!!
Sounds like excuses are being wheeled out already.

I've been banging on about the stack mj combo. I reckon those two have real connection and compliment each other well. Can't be having 76 i50s and so few shots at goal. Then again it's about time for cumbers to get a bite. Wish they could broadcast the MC to members it will be a thrilling discussion and that's not even considering the ruck situation.

Out: Balta; Clarke
In: Dusty, Soldo
If Tarrant is injured then Miller comes in.
Possibly Edwards as sub and MRJ to get a full game.

Need to put some immense pressure on the cats backline - MJ comes in.

Question is do we go with 1 or 2 rucks?

If 2 rucks then

In Soldo Dusty MJ
Out Balta Edwards Clarke

Melb
Out: Balta, Tarrant, Edwards -agree with Edwards to be Sub .. how many more games till his 300 ?
In: Miller, Dusty , MRJ
After the Coburg game just about agree.
But I’d have Stacky in just pipping MRJ.
If it’s wet like last Thursday wet, I’d have MRJ just pipping Gibcus.
No easy job for the MC this week.

Dry day predicted, need to wait to see if Tarrant is officially rules out, you would think so ? Watched most of the VFL on 7MATE yesterday and Miller, Stack, Ross, Soldo (and not far way Ryan) MRJ and Cumberland looked good. Castagna ran all day, did ok, will get back into the seniors when he can find a little more ball. I would hope with Martin back, and you throw in a Rioli and / or Castagna, we sore more goals last Thursday from the ~70+ inside 50s.

I also thought the VFL listed player Tylar Young (#75) looked composed as a tall backman as well, Good size, 196cm 92kg, mature mody at 23yo, former soccer player. Worth a rookie spot in 2023?

Oh East Melbourne!
Miller is in career best form in the VFL. He has put together a month of very good football and not just against weaker opposition. Think he needs to be rewarded. Rioli Jr must start to pressure their half backers. Stack might also be an option to assist here. Dusty back. Who goes out though…Balta.. maybe Tarrant.. Edwards as a sub?.. Ralphsmith?….maybe Clarke gets a rest.

Geelong will be waiting on our likely team selections. If Dusty is included don’t be surprised if Rodney Plonkerfield is held back for another week. They won’t want to risk his confidence being shattered again.
