Jack Riewoldt [Merged]

And at 34 years of age, at least Jack is getting on the park every game. Not the same can be said for Tommy who is starting to average 3-4 hammies per year now.

Love Tommy.

But love Jack.
That's because Tommy runs more.

He's going ok & giving his all as ever but sheesh there's no escaping his conversion has been poor & that's cost us dearly the past couple.
Worst conversion rate this season for many a year from our sharpshooter.
Hope he tidies it up over the last few rounds.

Yep.

Jack has won plenty of games for us, has 3 goals 9 from his last 2 games, he could've won a couple more for us if he had his kicking boots on.

Ok Oldie.
I will have half of what your drinking
We will be lucky to make the top 12.
The loss to Geelong bent us over exactly like last Year at Subiaco.
Agree. Will finish 10th as I predicted at the start of the year. We are hanging on for dear life at the moment.

Surely 9th is or has been our favoured spot!
I’d rather finish last than 9th. At least you get a decent draft pick finishing last. I’m one of those who think Jack will not only play on next year, but has to. If he’s not there and Lynch goes down as he has so often then we’re totally screwed forward.

Agree on Jack. If wants to play on for another season and it is a managed game plan then I am all for it. He may be slowing down a bit but his football smarts are still there and will help any newcomers into the club

11th is a show if the Kochies can win a few games one of which could well be against us.

They will want to beat us at the AO some sort of panacea for us ending them there in 2020, it will be their equal biggest game for the rest of the season aside from their showdown.

If we beat the bears again, we are still in it.
I reckon we will beat the bears but Hawthorn and Port aren't easy games.
If we had just held on against Geelong, we would be singing today.
Those last 8 minutes *smile* ended our year.
From the miss punch in the pack, to letting Henry mark a ball running back into a pack and then watching Atkins win a clearance breaking clear of Ross that fell over for no reason, will haunt me all preseason.

If he does choose to retire it would be a loss but I'd rather a decorated champion leave with a bit in the tank than starting to flounder.
With AFL Tassie or future coaching aspirations, media roles & a young family it wouldn't be a total shock. He's well set up to succeed in post AFL afterlife.
It would be a very sad day however Father time stops for nobody.

I saw a snippet of an interview he did about a week ago, whilst he didn't say it directly, reading between the lines he will retire this year.

Having Dusty and Lynch out hurts Jack as well. The defenders have been all over him last 3 games. He’s battled his guts out. He’s done a job for us bringing the ball to ground.
He should be only the 3rd banana.

If he stopped flying for hangers and playing for free kicks and just concentrated on bringing the ball down, he’d be of a lot more value to the side.
