Welcome Josh Gibcus

Geez made some howlers…. But Was he on Hipwood after half time? Hipwood had 5 touches and no goals in the second half.
Yeah he went to Hipwood after half time and shut him down, yes he made mistakes, but so did a lot of other's.
If people want to take pot shots on player's look at Balta and Tarrant ,Balta might be a athletic beast ,but lacks a football brain, and Tarrant was like a turtle last night ,he was really exposed .
The game was lost by the lack of pressure in the midfield ,and some poor skills.

Gets to the right spot but just can't clunk his marks. Some of his dropped marks were costly last night. But at least he is not bad at mopping up after

They went into last night game like we did under Wallace in Darwin against Port. Unprepared.
Slippery ball after dark.
It cost us big time. We couldn't handle the ball.

I just think he's buggered, been a long year for him, and he's copped some treatment.
Another pre-season, some muscle, and a better defensive mid field, and he'll come good.

Yes I think fatigue is where a lot of the seemingly simple errors stem from. His workrate has been massive for a first year tall.
Well done to him. A bright future ahead. Now get in the gym Josh.

Yep, some on here way too harsh on a young KPD.

Just ran out of steam. Looking forward to seeing him with another preseason under the belt.

Gee I hope last night we did not go too ealy on how HUGE Gibcus will be. Fumbled, slipped at crucial times, dropped marks. Jury out till 2024. Cost us at least 2 goals from basic errors.

Think he's Timid.
Hopefully its just a transition from Juniors too Senior football which is the problem and not a natural thing.

Slipped a few times and a little jittery at others but made plenty of spoils and beat Hipwood in the second half. Gonna be a ripper.

Couple of really costly dropped marks. But he just had to sneeze and Hipwood would get a free.

I think its a club wide problem. Whoever is in charge of basic skills at the club needs to move on. I think its a major issue as to why we lose so many close games, the fumbles and the dropped marks.

We need Rutten to come in and settle our defenders. Gibcus wasn't the only one that looked jittery all year.

As his confidence grows a lot of those spoils will become marks.

He played the percentages this year, he will be better again next year.

On Fox they had a graphic early in the last quarter which showed that he had covered the second or third most territory for the night - over 12ks. He looked pretty devastated after the game too. And people on here are getting the boots in. Ain’t right.

Better than Rance at the same age....some people just judge too quickly. Fools and children shouldn't see things half done.

Alex the Great also struggled early on and ended up becoming one of best defenders of the modern era. Gibcus has exceeded what I expected for a young player in his first year. A good pre-season, a little bit more size in the gym and increased confidence see where that takes us.

This is what i saw last night. So timid around the contest, it's a final, show urgency around the contest.
If we didn't know he was a top 10 pick, you could easily think he was a 3rd or 4th rounder.

Yes, he's young and has great upside. Hope he stacks on the weight and improves his game next year. I will stand by we have a player on our hands but need to call it how I see it right now. His 2nd half of the year was somewhat disappointing and last night was very average and there is no sugar coating it.

Sorry to pick on you Astute, you're just one of many and you were the last post.

He's 19. Its his first year. He's slight. There hasn't been much junior footy for 2 years for his draft year. It was a BIG final. Loud and frenetic.

And you guys expect perfection? Please.

you're right in terms of showing more the alex did early on, but one thing Alex showed from the get go was his ferocious kamikaze attack on the ball, at no stage could you ever call alex timid. he was a competitive beast from day 1. Gibcus will need to improve substantially in this area, and i hope he can, because he will an out and out gun if he does with his athletic traits
