Only heard of this Kiwi artist today. Been around for a while, not sure if she's been mentioned before. Something a bit mesmerising about her voice.

Was anyone else silly enough to stay up last night and watch the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert? Started at 1.30am and finished about 7.30am. A bit tired now but was pretty great.

Listening to a lot of old stuff from Scotland’s best ever band - AC/DC. All their old Bon Scott stuff. (y)

Stupid question Drof. There is no favourite. Loved Bon for a long time. Sad it was so long ago now.

Riff Raff is a beauty. best riff ever.

I've been revisiting the Powerage & Let There be Rock albums quite a bit. Magnificent Redders.

Ain't no fun, sin city, what's next to the moon, ride on, and in my opinion their most underrated tune - Live Wire.

Bon Scott, what an absolute legend.

Yeah that was great. I'd called that before the gig, as I'd seen a performance Shane and his band did on a rooftop of My Hero honouring his dad. He's got great hair like his dad too :)

Dave's daughter Violet can sing too, did you hear her rendition of Valerie with Mark Ronson?

Travis Barker was great on the drums (as was Rufus Taylor but the Darkness are still performing). I wonder if the Foos decide to tour again whether they will ask Travis to tour with them.

Saw the Oils for the umpteenth time tonight at the Palais. An unbelievable 27 song setlist including 10-1 in full. For the purists they even played 3 songs off Head Injuries and even a song off their little played sell titled debut. They go around again on Wednesday for the final time ever in Victoria, I'll be saddling up again.

Saw them at Bluesfest, lucky you to see them twice. Still great live.

I've been listening to Oils albums recently and revised my rankings. 10-1 will always be number 1 but I've got Blue Sky Mining rocketing to number 2.

Red Sails was always my #2 Oils album and when BSM first came out I liked it but had it behind Diesel and Dust as well. But it kept growing on me over time and this latest listen of all the albums bumps it up for me.

Blue Sky Mine and King of the Mountain were instant classics. Forgotten Years not immediate for me but love it now - The Killers' cover was the only time I shed a tear on grand final day 2017.

Not as many absolute killer tracks as 10-1 (I like every single song on 10-1 better than Beds Are Burning) but not a dud song on it either, and plenty of great album tracks. Stars of Warburton, Bedlam Bridge, Mountains of Burma, River Runs Red, add mood to counterplay the uptempo Blue Sky Mine and King of the Mountain. Then they treble down on mood with the last three tracks - Shakers and Movers (underrated gem), the hackles-raising One Country, and the powerful Antarctica (and the bonus track You May Not Be Released on the special edition blue cassette I played to death in the car). It really is an album that works as a whole, like they used to.

I think I need another go-around to determine whether Red Sails or D&D sits at #3. Species Deceases was awesome but only four songs. Hercules still a fave.

Yeah, Blue Sky Mining is great, the drumming really hits you when you crank the volume.

I saw something saying they will play at Bluesfest but nothing on the Bluesfest page, must check that out.

Last time I saw the Oils was decades ago at Kooyong, must have been mid 80s.

They did play at Bluesfest, DS., five months ago. And in 2001 (saw that too). I also saw them at Rod Laver in the mid-90s and twice on their 2017 tour, in Sydney and the Sunny Coast.

Would have been incredible to see them in a pub!

GOAT Aussie band.

Yeah they played the last Bluesfest which I didn't go to, but it was an email or something which seemed to say they might play the next one. Who knows, the farewell tour seems to be a very long tour.

I first listened to the Oils after my older brother lent me his Red Sails in the Sunset album And then I heard 10-1, which I believe is their best, and my favourite. Sadly, I have never seen them live.

That is sad, tig. Unreal live band.

I only knew Midnight Oil from The Power and The Passion until we went on holidays with another family and their kids flogged Species Deceases for a fortnight. After that I was hooked and bought all their back catalogue. Found Red Sails, Head Injuries and Midnight Oil cassettes in used bargain bins at the local music store. 10-1 was still in the charts I reckon, had to pay full price for that three years after it came out!
