If we get Taranto and Hopper, the AFL may as well hand us the 2023 premiership now!

Please don't fall into the trap of gloating about paper profits, this script usually ends in tears. When Essendon sold the farm for Shiel it was meant to be domination, Collingwood were supposedly going to be the kings of September with their newly minted Treloar, Hawthorn were ripe for another tilt with Scully and a few others. Deals with GWS aren't always what they seem. Unlike Gold Coast who generally provide a value added service, GWS sell for top dollar and simply rotate their 3rd, 4th & 5th best midfielders with new draftees. In the whole time they have been in the AFL none of these blockbuster deals have translated to premierships, not even finals for Carlton who have revisited the well at least half a dozen times. Buyer beware, just look at the Hawks if you want lessons in topping up and ushering in a new era of mediocrity.

These two mids would be handy, no doubt.

They are the bare minimum though.

Bolton, Pickett and Stack should be looked at for serious midfield minutes also.

The mail I'm getting is Taranto's a lock and Hopper wants in as well. The talk is Ralphsmith, Soldo and our first pick and North's second rounder and maybe some pick swaps or a future pick.

Riley Beveridge says it's Soldo and RCD.

RCD is worth about a half eaten pack of Doritos in any sort of trade deal, and not the yummy Mexicana ones.
You’re underselling his potential I tell ya the kids gonna be a star

I would do either of those deals in the first hour of trading - too good to be true.
Mmmmhhhh
As they say when trying to warn people of scams and other dodgy business - If it sounds too good to be true it generally isn’t true.

If we get Hopper and Taranto the AFL will hand us the Hardest draw next season bookmark it.

It's nailed on to happen.

We have finished in the middle 6 of the ladder so our double up opponents are already set. They can't hand us an overly hard draw. That can make sure we travel interstate often though.

*smile* afl will make us play the top 4 every month.
If we happen to win, they’ll find a way to retrospectively deduct some of our score via a delayed ARC decision.
Marlion will get cited every week.
Prestia will fail a concussion test on his hamstring (by afl doctor) every month.
Dusty will have to face an afl mandated media conference every week
Lynch will have to play in handcuffs with the afl logo imprinted on them
Dimma will have to coach sitting with his back to the viewing window
Taranto and Hopper will each only be allowed to play alternate weeks
All our players will only be allowed to play in sandshoes
All our players will have to Wear woollen mittens when taking the field
“Free kicks for “ will be limited to 10 per game. After 10, the ball is handed to the opposition

Any other farcical idea the corrupt cheating bastards can come up with will be on the table. They can gagf

Hmm hmm. Anyone remember 2019 for Collingwobbles? Beam comes in and everyone Labelled it the best midfield ever in the history of the game.
No team will be able to match their strength. Envy of the competition!
They finished 4th
GWS finished their run to the grand final.

And Beams contract finished Collingwood and cost them two of their most important two-way midfielders in Treloar and Phillips, and also Stephenson and Aish, plus Dayne himself.

Yep. This was the start of the downfall and they’re still reeling from it.
Delicious
