Welcome to Tiger land Riley Collier’Dawkins

Agree the rookie list should be for players that have never been on an AFL list, and for 2 years only. Otherwise just increase the main list size to 45.

Turnover of list crucial. RCD, Martyn, Aarts all should go. Dow saved by existing contract. Stacky on the precipice.

Replace with shiny new kids.

RCD & Stack on the Rookie list
V
Pick #88 + #97

which enables Richmond to have more depth in the next 2 years whilst going for a premiership

Not sure why we even have a rookie list any more. Just make it a list of however many players is appropriate, 40, 42, 45, whatever, and be done with it.

Rookies are identical in every respect to players on the main list.

They get paid less and 80k of their wages doesn't count in the salary cap which clubs would like. You'd certainly see less outsiders given a go if they were full whack on the cap I think because most of them are only on the 80k range.

posters keep pointing to RCD's last few games- reality is he got kicks against suburban standard teams.
over his last 8 games of the year he got 25+ against the 21st, 20th, 19th, 18th and 17th placed VFL teams. he got 20 or less against the 2nd, 6th and 14th placed teams.
True, however all the other players in the team should also have shown the same improvement and increases but that didn’t really happen.

I'm taking another view, if he is getting to more contests then his aerobic capacity is improving, the quality of opponents is a secondary issue at this stage.

Yep, most (not all but most) good players show signs early and often. Regardless of where they are drafted or their level of development they adapt quickly to the professional environment, debut early and by their third year in the system, injuries permitting, they are regulars in the 22. Maybe fours years for talls. Of course there are exceptions but they are just that, exceptions.

The club has given RCD four good years to show us what he’s got and it’s time for both parties to move on.

Seriously what’s the point of Rookie the four ?
No point
The 4 couldn’t hold down a spot
Give 4 others an opportunity

Collier-Dawkins was picked as a 4 year project, he's had 4 years but probably starting to hit AFL fitness levels. It's a tough one but for a rookie pick probably a well weighted risk.

Even if he was a 4 year project player, it’s still a fail when he isn’t even in our best 30 players.

He could improve his fitness base another 20% and still not be good enough for AFL level.

You can’t be a first rounder and display so little in 4 seasons. Not surprised.

I was jumping for joy when we selected RCD.
Was exactly the type of player we needed.

Back to the drawing board for a big developing contested midfielder.
Going to be interesting watching the Maggoos this year. They’ve just delisted their 4 best contested players.
In fact their only contested players
