its not only indigenous kids who struggle with the demands of an elite professional sport
David Gourdis. Hardwick rode him hard, and wanted him to be more Rance like with his communication and 1% efforts etc.
He may have had a different success too if we'd been more accepting individuals as they are, rather than trying to turn people into something they're not.

100%, amongst Caucasians, our very own Dan Connors springs to mind, very talented but not committed enough to succeed.
I think Dean McDonald lasted 3 months with us before he got homesick and quit to go back to MORWELL.

Wow..Young D Mac.

Forgot all about him...tried looking up to see if he kicked on footy wise back home, but not much around so assume not.

Believe he played for Morwell for a while, but has been playing at Yallourn/Yallourn North for the last few years at least. Pretty pudgy these days.

YYN's senior side just won a flag with him in it. He kicked 1-2 on the day but didn't dominate. One bloke in particular (Keegan Hughes) dominated and did most of the work. That's the only game i've seen Dmac play since NAB cup 2011 for us. Have been told he is/has been quite good at that country level, but I wouldn't have guessed it based off his Grand final.

I've only seen him once or twice when they were in the MGFL. Agree about the pudginess. He got 80 goals in 2022 in the NorthGFL, 75 in 2021 when YYN won the MGFL grand final.

Second in goalkicking to Hughes at YYN in both seasons.

Hughes seems a serious athlete. Regularly see him at my gym putting in extra work. Probably a reflection on Dmac's natural talent that they're even close in goal tallys.

Hughes' grand final was as dominant as you'll ever see from a key forward. Kicked 9 but still found himself working up the field and into the backline late in the game. I'm not sure Dmac moved out of the 50m arc for his 2 goals.

Interesting bombers have talked Tippa back into a 1 year deal (aged 29).
Don't think Tippa ever performed well against us so i don't view it as a major win for Bombers to get him back on their list.

Cotchin laid a great tackle on him a few years back. About the only time I’ve ever noticed him against us.

Tippa only plays well when Essington wins so he's never had a good game against us.

I missed the GF this year but my son was there and said he just tore it up. His description was he looked like an AFL player playing in a VFL reserves game.

Lad needs to work on his match fitness. He's got too much of it. As we all know, the traditional role of the aging country full forward is not to leave the goal square except for change of ends.

Was he officially delisted?
Don’t think so, they kept him on the list when they found out that he may be looking to come back. It wouldn’t matter because if they had delisted him, he would be a delisted free agent and could still go on their list. But i think they kept him on the list to freeze Freo out whilst they talked him round.

Spot on.
Kayne Pettifer another who never busted a gut.
Played some games but could have done a lot more with his career.
Bit harsh on “PTrain “ . Busted his gut . Played some awesome games with the Tiges and then went on to be a country Victorian legend
Played over 100 games for the Tiges and kicked over 1 goal a game . Fair return I say

One of the best kicks for goal from outside 50 we've had.
