Yeah, that's *smile* behaviour.

I love my Eagles, but can't defend moronic behavior like that.

Commiserations on the game, Ricemagic.
So tough to be a celebrity nowadays with those bloody camera's around. No video and you probably get what's coming to you if you big mouth them. I've my whole life in public places seen a celebrity and leave them alone, no asking for autographs or photo's, at the ground yes but away from the stadium let them enjoy their family and social time. There's some ridiculous videos of Ronaldo trying to have a coffee. Dude like that can't go anywhere in the world man!! :ROFLMAO:

That's great, sounds like I'm in with a chance if I decide to go because in other news the NFL and the College mob sold out years ago and prices jumped from less than $500 to thousands now, and they used to have ballots but now it's corporate and teams split the rest
'93 got tickets on a group tour to the SB and Pro Bowl in Rose Bowl Pasadena, memory the ticket was $US175ish.
'96 won two tickets to SB, Pro Bowl, a week in Arizona and L.A. with a car and Disneyland tickets, reckon they were around $US250, have to find the tickets and have a look at them.
Re the '93 trip, I went in a ballot and managed to get two tickets to the College Rose Bowl final, it as we know was beginning of Jan but I couldn't go for a month until the SB, but I've got them un-used in a folder and might sell them one day if they're worth anything.

Tickets cost like $5K+ just for top deck stuff, ridiculous man :(

That would have been awesome Rice, glad you went when prices were a lot more reasonable!

Would love to play Merion.

Strikes me as a course you have to think your way around. Big boppers no real advantage.
I’ve played it. Played it with their club champion (wanker) many moons ago. Great course. Very, very snobbish club and members. At one point it was rated more exclusive than Augusta - true.

Lot of old, white, Philadelphia and NYC stockbroker and lawyer money.

Definitely was and lucky to do it then, the trip would have been lucky in '93' to cost $3K each for me and my bro. We were offered like $2,500 each for the ticket so could have pretty much paid for the trip, but nah first SB no way am I sitting it out, and the bro is a Cowboy so he saw them win twice in '93 and '96!!

They sell packages through this mob 'On Location', they send me regular email updates, and they do lot's of the other sports including the golf as well if you go on this link. If the Niners make it one day, might have to get on-board and get a ticket :eyes

Pretty brutal greens with lots of break if you find yourself in the wrong spot?

Um, yes on some greens. Others it’s more about the right position off the tee. Like Oakmont they tend to keep their greens pretty quick so that’s a challenge.

Its routing is really good. Moves and bends nicely, elevation changes as well.

Famous for its wicker baskets on the pins instead of flags. (Wearing my 2013 US Open t shirt right now funny enough.)

I was eyeing off a tour just last week that takes in the 2024 SB as well as the Phoenix Open.

All day food and drinks package on the party hole at Phoenix included.

But I hate that tournament, in particular that hole. 20 years ago maybe but not now.

Nah, gorillas are in Uganda and Rwanda.

Taking the kids on safari to South Luangwa NP.
Yeah you're right, my bad, their in Uganda and Rwanda.

Heard a bit about South Luangwa NP, would be a great trip.

I renewed one of my baby elephant annual adoption fees today, great idea for the kid's man ;)
One day hopefully get to Kenya and see her live, maybe when she's got her own little one in 5-10 years time :giggle:

Never looked into it, what’s the idea behind those wicker baskets?

There must be a reason behind them.

Next year's is in Vegas, then New Orleans. Easier this year to do the Phoenix Open wouldn't it with the Super Bowl there as well?

SLNP appears in lots of doco’s, especially those featuring leopards.

Is the Sheldrick operation based in Nairobi? I have heard of it for sure.

Great cause your supporting, it would indeed be a great gift for the kids.

They have three shelters, one just outside Nairobi, one in Tsavo which is towards the south-east and closer to the ocean and one at Ithumba which is north of there I think. Read Dame Nellie's book and developing the Sheldrick WIldlife Trust, great lives some people have man. They have visiting hours to see the orphans, so hope to get along to one of them one day.

#49ers QB Brock Purdy suffered a complete tear of the UCL in his throwing elbow and will undergo surgery, per sources. Purdy is getting second opinions, but the initial hope is he can undergo a repair — not reconstruction (AKA Tommy John) — and will be ready for training camp.

1675119915694.png

Torn UCL recovery timeline

A repair on Purdy's arm would give him a standard recovery of about six months, meaning if he got surgery on Tuesday, he would be ready to return right around July.

If the 49ers' initial hopes are incorrect and Purdy requires Tommy John surgery, he would likely be looking at about a full year of recovery, which would obviously sideline him for the 2022 season. Jake Delhomme got the surgery in October 2007 and he was back by September 2008, although that was after chronic arm pain.

In the baseball world, Bryce Harper had Tommy John surgery after the season in November and could be back by mid-May. Because a quarterback's strain is somewhere between an MLB pitcher and an MLB outfielder, erring toward the pitcher, it's difficult to say exactly how long he would miss with modern day rehabilitation, which is more conservative with pitchers and more aggressive with position players.

With that being said, if Purdy is able to avoid Tommy John surgery, that would be the best case scenario and he could be back in time to at least spend time with the team during the summer, which will be important in a crowded 49ers QB room.

What does this mean for 49ers QB situation?

In an interesting twist, Purdy's injury might mean a reunion between Jimmy Garoppolo and the 49ers.

It's often said if you have two starting quarterbacks you don't have a quarterback. Somehow, the 49ers have three of Schrödinger's QBs: They have three viable ones on the roster until March 15, but they won't know the status of any of them until later.

Trey Lance is expected to recover in time for a full return in the 2023 season from an ankle injury, but Garoppolo is the one whose return to 100 percent is the most surefire. And with the 49ers' QB issues this year, they'll want to carry at least two viable options next season.

With that in mind, don't be surprised if the 49ers re-up Garoppolo's tenure with the team after signing him to a surprising one-year, $7 million contract last offseason. The 49ers were 7-3 with him starting this year and he was a steady presence, something that is invaluable for a team with great coaching.

Of course, they could look to add a free agent like Tom Brady, who has strong ties to the Bay Area.

The 49ers have some hard decisions to make this offseason.

As for Purdy, second opinions will shed light his long-term status, but a full UCL tear is ominous, to say the least. Once there's confirmation of what "repairs" are necessary, it will be easier to prognosticate any kind of return for 2022's rookie sensation.

The league informed teams Monday that the 2023 salary cap would be a record $224.8 million per club, according to sources informed of the situation. It's a $16.6 million leap for each club from the $208.2 million cap in 2022.

Here’s a closer look at each team’s current salary cap, according to overthecap.com:

Bears: $91,833,199
Falcons: $56,414,855
Giants: $44,727,461
Bengals: $43,719,058
Texans: $39,289,053
Patriots: $32,636,047
Seahawks: $31,040,644
Ravens: $26,867,479
Raiders: $22,080,338
49ers: $16,398,516
Cardinals: $14,467,205
Chiefs: $13,997,884
Lions: $13,825,618
Colts: $13,071,832
Broncos: $9,206,724
Commanders: $6,649,246
Eagles: $4,235,666
Steelers: $1,028,747
Jets: ($2,793,498)
Cowboys: ($5,303,002)
Panthers: ($8,938,728)
Rams: ($14,194,570)
Browns: ($14,645,606)
Dolphins: ($16,453,222)
Packers: ($16,483,743)
Bills: ($19,612,436)
Chargers: ($20,381,524)
Jaguars: ($22,217,686)
Vikings: ($23,251,507)
Titans: ($23,623,634)
Buccaneers: ($55,033,921)
Saints: ($58,596,996)

Damn, Bengals $43M under the cap can add 2-4 good players to an already pretty good team. On the other hand Saints and Buccaneers over the cap by $50M+, way way over the cap!!
