Blanchett getting robbed reminded me of when Denzel beat out Russell Crowe for Training Day. The Oscars are about more than your acting chops evidently.

I tihnk Cate deserved to win but Michelle Yeoh gives a great performance in EEAAO

He was at his best in the Spaghetti Westerns. All great movies. Never tire of watching them.
I'm introducing my kids to the trilogy. Classics. So many great characters.

Massive Clint fan, although he's had his fair share of stinkers too.

Yep fantastic characters, Tuco being my favourite.

Never forget watching the end shoot out scene in The Good The Bad and The Ugly for the first time.

Leone's directing and Morricone's score had me on the edge of my seat!!

John Wick! John Wick!! John Wick!!! John Wick!!!! :eyes Had to say it four times
Just got back from watching the 4th instalment at the IMAX
Well, what can U say, if you luv the John Wick films, well you just luv the John Wick films man
Choreography is amazing and when it's the action and less talking it's what you watch them for - less talk, more action
Didn't have the chance the last few days to re-watch the first three films,
But I'll re-watch them at home the next 10 days, let the new one simmer inside and definitely go see it again next weekend :eyes

RIP Lance Reddick :notworthy:

Watched The Whale, very good, recommend.

Babylon got off to a rocky start with the worlds longest intro scene. Got better but yet again I ask, did it need to be a 3 hr movie? No.

Now i've let John Wick it simmer for three days and calmed my excitement levels down a notch. Perhaps a tad too long, 2 hrs 40 minutes for a movie with just one plot is too long. It should have been about 2 hrs 10.

I've always said 2 hrs 10 is about the length a movie should go for, unless they've got a few storylines running through it - Star Wars - What's Hans doing, Luke's training with Yoda, what's the Empire up too, what's the Rebel Alliance up too; The Godfather - Fredo's in Vegas or Miami, Michael's hiding in Sicily, the family is in New York; the Lord of the Ring films, movies like them can keep it going for 2 hrs 30 minutes - 3 hours!!

That one plot did make it become a bit like noise nearing the end of the film, you'd already seen enough action/violence with not much script or anything else you could enjoy!!

Did something tonight I haven't done for many many years at the Cinema.
Endured 15 mins of ads followed by 30 mins of "Everything Everywhere etc" - and then shot through.
Just didn't do it for me.

Yep, I hated it too. I can’t see why it gets the raves it has.

I caught an oldie recently - Running On Empty. 1988 film starring River Phoenix (what a talent, what a loss), Judd Hirsch, Martha Plimpton and Christine Lahti. Hirsch and Lahti play ex-hippy activists on the run for 20 years after bombing a napalm lab, Phoenix is their talented musician son who has to keep changing schools and names, and Plimpton is his love interest and the daughter of the music teacher who wants him to go to Juliard. Very good.

Yeah I couldn't do it either, tapped out after 45 minutes. I'm fine with not being in the "in" crowd and thinking it was very average.
