Changes v Skunks

With Cox now out and more than likely Mihochek then it does make selection interesting.

From a ruck perspective they will play Cameron but then will need a smaller type (maybe McStay) to pinch hit in the ruck. Nank and Ryan to cover this.

Up forward their only genuine tall forward is McStay at 195cm. Balta will take him. They will probably bring in Ash Johnson and Reefe Mcinnes but none are taller than 194cm. So Grimes will take one. I still think we will bring in another taller defender. Biggie looks like a good match up here.

If Mihocek is out as well I doubt they’ll use McStay in the ruck. They might bring in Begg for Cox? Ash Johnson for Mihocek. Or they might go a bit smaller if it’s still showers forecast
never mind, Begg is injured. Going to be an intriguing team selection for both sides

Dimma likes to give the kids grandfinal practice.

I want to see the headline

'Tigers debutante Ball'

In: banks, biggie*, KB, lightening green

* you get 2 debuts at richmond

If both are out, it does change things for them. Interesting game.
A pity showers are forecast we may have been able to stretch them height wise, but may not need to bring in another tall in defence but go smaller?

Dan Mcstay their big banana.

Im genuinely astonished at the no-chance narrative.
I have to say I’m also amazed at the negativity shown by so many Tiger supporters. I think we are a good chance. Perk up you fellow Tigers. Be loud and proud at the game. We can win this!

Mansell to come into the 22 man squad and play on Nick Daicos, Dimma won't have to tell him what to do...............

I reckon Grimes takes DeGoey (when playing forward). Vlas on Elliott. Danny on Bobby. And I agree Balta on McStay/Cameron.

I think its worth reviewing the Pies 1st couple of games before stating how red hot they were.

At 3 quarter time, they were losing to Geelong and had conceded nearly 100 points in 3 quarters. Admittedly straight goalkicking so either amazing conversion or they broke Collingwood open and scored mainly from kicks in the corridor. I didn't see the game so I can't comment but interesting. The Pies blew them away in the final quarter, an old team having lost 2 players early, its probably not unexpected. Contested possessions largely equal in that game, would like to see by quarter.

Against Port, Port were absolutely flogged at the contest, which allowed Collingwood to control field position and then allowed them to take those riskier kicks into the corridor. They won CP by 57, clearances by 12 and tackles by 17. Its no wonder their free kick differential was so high, when they won the ball in close, and then tackled harder than Port. Port just weren't in that game at all.

If we can operate well at the contest (and we've been pretty good at this in the 1st 2 rounds), tackle well (again been pretty good), then I think we can beat them, if we use the ball forward of centre.

Both Geelong and Port have scored fairly well against Collingwood. Geelong had 24 shots from 46 inside 50's, Port had 17 shots from 47 inside 50's which is poor conversion. Port were just horrible in that game, so I'm not sure its something that we can bank on happening again on Friday night, its 1 of those abhorrent games that just happens at times.

Reckon if our mids are on their game, Cotch, Prestia and Taranto to lead from there, and we help to stifle their transition, we will be good, and if we turnover the ball in our forward half (as we have done in both of our 1st 2 games), we will get plenty of looks at goal.

It should be a ripper of a game, sucks I couldn't get tickets, was waiting for my daughters to ask their mum if they could go (as its on her weekend) and by the time they did, all the tickets were gone.

According to the doyen of strategy on SEN, (Brenton Sanderson:rolleyes:), the Tiger's will need to do something different if they don't want to suffer a 30-40 point loss as Collingwood are so far above the level of the rest it ain't funny. I'll tell you what's not funny is listening to this bloke waffle on:vomit
