Welcome to Tigerland Jacob Bauer

Trained with the backs this morning and getting one on one tutelage by Truck. He was training as the stay at home defender and Young was doing the running off.

Please don't tell me they are looking at playing Balta forward?

So you are saying he played well there despite training with the forwards all pre-season....
Not exactly.
He was injured and in a moon boot most pre season so not sure where he would have trained.
He did start the season in the forward line but they are either trying to teach him defensive efforts, or they believe he’d make a better defender

Not sure what the problem is with him trialing or training as a back.

Why?

1. Played his best football in the backline prior to us drafting him. It was based on those performances that we drafted him. He had shown not too much as a junior forward.

2. Grimes and Broad are getting old. You can throw in Vlaustin as well. We don’t have any other medium tall defenders.

3. He will have his work cut out making it as a forward. Probably won’t make it. Easier to play down back.

4. Think Jeremy Howe. Average forward turned backman. Both have great leaps. Moves well as an interceptor.

He kicks too well for a backman.

Unbelievable another forward going back
if Lockett or Franklin came to us under Dimma they’d be trialled as FB
We don’t seem to want to kick a winning score but prefer to hold teams out

Another one?
Astbury.
Dan The Prince Rioli
Balta as a junior i think played everywhere.
Gibcus as a junior played forward in local comps and back in elite juniors.
Short
Baker

Is that the lot?

So who’s going to replace Jack/Lynch another HB
Hope we get extra points for defending
Sometime we’re gonna need to kick a few goals

maybe they were trying him back as they wanted to play him but couldn't find a spot in our already stacked fwd line (as it was pre injuries)

Nothing much except:
- Luke Meehan has no left foot,
- Steve Morriss still can't kick
- Truck is even slower....

Just joking but with so few players a fair few coaches/trainers were more involved and actually partaking in the training. Morro, Truck and a couple of trainers were noticeable.

I missed the start but there was a real focus on the transition game. Go watch our 2nd quarter from last weekend. That's what we train. I reckon on Saturday we got about 50% of that right. Missed kicks, wrong options etc. Change that to 60% right and we win comfortably. I reckon they're working on hitting 60% to 60%+.

Started football as a back. Didn't he only move forward when he went back to SA ?

Bauer isn't that quick, and doesn't apply a lot of pressure,l think going back will teach him to be more responsible, and get more involved in the contest .
With Young really fitting in well, they might try Gibcus up forward .
