Samson Ryan

Was busy most of the night thinking his way through the game. Great to see.

Also loved in the roving Brian segment when his mum who was funny was blind was respectful and proud of his mum. Many people would been too embarrassed and prudish to stand by a loved one under similar circumstances.

Another step forward. He looked gased at 3/4 time. But was massive in the last quarter.

His ruck work continues to get better. He and Shai seem to have a great understanding of each other at the centre bounce, there were a number where Ryan tapped straight down to Shai, there was another 1 which didn't end in a clearance as the ball bounced the wrong way from Shai, had it bounced nicely, Ryan had tapped it right into Shais path and he would have been off again.

What I'm picking up a lot though, is this guy is a running machine. He just never stops running, his aerobic capacity is already very good, tap work very good, as we've been saying for a while, once he gets a bit more strength in the upper body, he will be some player.

One week spell required for playing Abba, Taylor Swift and Elton John before the game. Disgraceful.

Excited by this kid.

Raw with heaps of upside.

Im loving what hes doing'only a few games in....he's a real competitor and you can see the fire in his eyes. We need to be careful not to burn him out too.

He's just going to get better with some mass /size and perfecting his technique.

I reckon there'll be a few guys who'll be looking fwd to getting the ball palmed right to them, esp Bolton.

Fingers crossed he keeps developing.

As soon as I saw that I thought about how salty you would be. Hate Abba but the Tay Tay selection is my favourite Ryan moment thus far. Absolute tune. One of the great singer song writer of this generation.

Went missing when we needed some marking power down the line, but fought well in the ruck and made some important contributions. I think we have a player on our hands...
He is getting his hands to a lot of marks but his hands are a bit hard, hopefully that will come soon.
If he can get his marking up to scratch we have a very exciting big man on our hands

He should change his name to Chewbacca and go live on Endor with some Ewoks, because he Does Not Make Sense.

He was carrying most of the ruck work against much bigger bodies. And he got better and better as the game went on. It did not make sense.

And then in the fourth quarter, when he should have been out on his feet, he kept getting to contests. And started clunking a few marks. And giving our mids silver service. It did not make sense.

It was nonsensical. It was overwhelming. It was prophetic.

It was his 9th game.

Let's benchmark. Bailey J Williams is the worst starting ruck in the AFL. Ceglar can rarely walk. But when he can he's nearer the other end. In terms of ruck work.

Ryan started well. Good first quarter. Too eager. Overcommitted but kept getting hand to ball. After that Ceglar got on top. Used his strength to manoeuvre Ryan out of position. And dominated our child.

I wanted Ryan to be given a spell and Minson in. Did not happen. Dimma hung Ryan out to dry. *Oh, you're getting flogged by Ceglar? That's your problem, not mine. Feel free to engineer our demise.*

Ryan did not respond. Flogging goes on. Ruck rout. Clearance massacre. We want Hardwick to get Ryan out of there. But Hardwick did not give him a chop out. Let him get slaughtered.

It was a war of wills. Our youngster determined to fail. Our coach letting him.

Ryan halved something and then then the coach let Minson take over. The coach would not switch Ryan's role until he lifted.

I haven't reviewed a lot of stuff yet but Ryan was lifting some time in the third although still getting brushed aside by Ceglar. That was when he pulled the Dustin Martin kick. (A kick the real Dustin Martin can no longer execute.)

Winning the ball in the square Samson Ryan sent a 60m kick 5m off the ground to the worst aerialist in the AFL Judson Clarke who was standing between two talls. Knocked his eyes out. Goal, of course.

Plan for the ball. Vision. There is no ruck like him. But will he fight? Will he, after 40 minutes of failure, lift? Not just lift, but excel.

Nankervis back in will only help him: Nank's physicality wears down the opposition rucks way more than Miller does. Samson will be facing players that are more fatigued.

Love the 'BT, lovely to meet you' at the very end as BT breaks away quickly :ROFLMAO:

Did you hear the very articulate GFs comment who had met mum for the first time?

'Shes lovely, even plastered'

So candid and seemingly refreshingly working class?

Sampa spoke well and wish passion too

With The improvement trajectory this kids on,

Hes gonna be AA ruckman next year
