Newy has senior VFL experience. Coached Box Hill in 2017 and 2018. 2nd place and VFL coach of the year in 2017 and VFL premiers in 2018. Then back to Hawthorn assistant in 2019.
Carr coached Nth Adelaide between 2016 and 2019 and won the SANFL premiership in 2018
Hopefully McQualter dosent rush players back from injuries..if Hardwick had a negative it was selecting players too soon after being injured.
I think taking a state league team to a premiership while also having AFL assistant coach experience is far worthier than a coach with AFL experience who has failed to win a premiership

There is an element of luck in almost any flag IMO - or do you somehow bring that unluckiness with you.
I think a tried AFL coach who got more out of the list than you would expect is a good one too but 100% agree doing well with your own 2nd tier team plus AFL experience is really good too.

Pyke is a gun coach. He went off the rails after losing the 2017 GF but he will have learnt a lot from that and it won't be repeated. He returned to Sydney and completely turned that team around.

There's a lot of positive PR going around for Mini. I hope it's just to rally supporters for the rest of this season and not the start of a campaign to determine the outcome of the next coaching appointment.
Imagine if that happens and we make finals.....what would Dimma think?
