Lynch !!

Question, if Beth Lynch plays 50 games and has a son, could the boy nominate Mother Son rule?
Father-daughter rule is one game. Given a mother is unlikely to play more than 50-70 games you would think the number would be relatively low. I couldn’t find any specific rule.

Going by the photo of Tom at the pre-season camp he looks to have dropped a fair bit of weight, is looking very lean. This will be beneficial for his legs and feet, and hopefully allow him to have no further trouble with them.

Just keep off the beach Tom, that sand is a killer for plantar fasciitis.

He definitely looks slimmer for the reasons you mention.
Just hope that doesn't impact his aerial ability as he's been a contested beast for so long. Very strong man.
We still don't really know what we are getting if & when he gets back. It's not just about getting back to running, he's going to need to build his body again too..

A bit of an update on Lynchy.

"Richmond spearhead Tom Lynch remains certain he will face his old side in opening round as he gets set to test his worrisome foot by running on grass next week.
And troubled Melbourne star Clayton Oliver is expected to resume training in January after his latest break from football.

Tiger goalkicker Lynch began running on an Alter-G machine in December, which removes some gravity and reduces pressure on the foot that limited him to just four games in 2023.

After surgery in July, it has been a long slog for the forward but he was still steadfast that he will be fit to face his old team and old coach Damien Hardwick when Richmond travels to the Gold Coast for opening round.

“I think it will be fine for (opening round), everything going well. It’s obviously a long way off,” Lynch, 31, told reporters on Wednesday.

“End of Feb, I will be back in full training. I see myself progressing really quickly and getting back up to full speed.

“I’m running on the Alter-G machine so that is going well and then I will progress in the next week to running on grass, so all positive albeit being a little bit conservative at the moment but my strength and everything is really good.”

Lynch joined a handful of stars at the Portsea Pro Am on Wednesday, including Melbourne captain Max Gawn

Cant see him playing the early rounds if he is only back to full training in Feb.

If Kosi shows any sort of form in the practice games they will hold off Lynchy for a bit.

I would expect him back in around 3-4 at the earliest

Your probably right but Lynch always seems to play well after a seemingly (from the outside) light prep. In horse racing terms "he comes to hand very quickly ".

He'd have been on a specialized training program for ages to keep up a fitness n strength base all last year. Been running on the gravity machine so he'll have an aerobic base, starts on grass about now n that'll be managed n gradually increased all January.
As long as there's no further lingering issues or another break down over the next couple of months he'll be ready to go for round one. They all maintain a fitness base year round, so the bigger issues occur if you can't upgrade the fitness base to playing standard during the last two months of pre season.

It’ll be interesting, he currently has waaaaay less bulk than when he last played… so holding ground will be challenging for him, and with a bung foot…fast leads seem unlikely. He may need to reach into the Jack bag of tricks to influence 24.

Jumped off a boat into the ocean on Insta, he’s back baby!!
